A Hanok Village skewer stall we couldn't walk past, even before dinner

Jeonju Hanok Village snack: Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch. We were clearly on our way to dinner, but you just can't walk past chicken skewers, can you?? Nothing beats it as a snack *_*

The exterior matched the Hanok Village atmosphere really well, and beyond chicken skewers they had octopus fritters, slushy ice cream and all sorts of other snacks, so we couldn't help but stop by 💚

Does Munkkocchi Mungangjeong have seating?

Personally, what I loved was that there's seating where you can actually sit and eat!! Street snacks in the Hanok Village usually mean standing or walking while you eat, right?

Here there's a spot to sit right in front of the store, which was great for taking a short break ^_^ With kids, it's really convenient to grab a snack, rest a bit, and then head back out to explore 😊

Munkkocchi Mungangjeong menu and how to order at the kiosk

You order using the kiosk~ Looking through the menu, there were more types than I expected, from octopus skewers to chicken skewers to octopus fritters >_< You can also pick mild or spicy, so even people who can't handle spice can order to their taste.

That day we chose the katsuo octopus fritter for ₩8,500, teriyaki chicken skewer for ₩5,000, and cheese chicken skewer for ₩6,000.

They're also running a Naver receipt review event, so it seemed worth joining after ordering *_* Little things like that are quietly fun, haha. And they even gave us a cool, sweet cup of sikhye (rice punch)~~

The unusual drink: homemade sikhye (sweet rice punch)

As a unique item, they also had homemade sikhye. It's a great option for anyone wandering the Hanok Village looking for a cold drink~ and it suited the traditional atmosphere of the Hanok Village really well ^_^

Katsuo octopus fritter, 8,500 won, mild

True to its name, Munkkocchi Mungangjeong sells both octopus dishes and chicken skewers ~ Among them, I was curious about the katsuo octopus fritter so I ordered that first, haha

The katsuo octopus fritter is ₩8,500 and you can choose mild or spicy. I went with mild, and they piled all kinds of sauces plus a generous heap of bonito flakes on top of the octopus fritter — super appealing >_<

The octopus was cut into bite-sized pieces so it was easy to eat — crispy on the outside, with the chewy texture of octopus still alive on the inside, really great texture *_* It's so much tastier with the sauce and bonito flakes than just plain octopus — great to take out as a drinking snack too ~

I always used to just get the plain octopus skewers, but trying the fritter this time, it turned out to be totally my style ,, surprised me. I'll have to order this again ^_^ haha

Teriyaki chicken skewer, 5,000 won, mild for the kids

Next up is the teriyaki chicken skewer for ₩5,000! This one also came in mild or spicy, and since we were eating with the kids we went with mild.

Sweet and savory teriyaki sauce,, plus chicken!! It really worked well together and was an easy menu item to share with the kids *_*

Best seller: cheese chicken skewer, 6,000 won

The cheese chicken skewer, marked as the best menu item, is ₩6,000! The visuals alone are no joke,, +_+ There's so much cheese piled on top of the skewer that I had to take a photo the moment I got it 📸

I also chose mild for the cheese chicken skewer, and the nutty flavor of the cheese added to the chicken made it soft and delicious, haha. They also did the cheese-pull thing for us once ~

The freshly melted cheese stretching out ,, went so well with the chicken skewer that I instantly understood why it's the best menu item.
