Hot pot dinner course with beef tendon in Songdo, Incheon: Syabudaum
In short
Syabudaum Songdo Amusement Park Branch is a shabu-shabu (Korean hot pot) course restaurant on Cheongnyang-ro in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. Booked in advance, the two-person dinner course with Australian black Angus (29,000 won per person) ran from yuzu cheese salad through beef tendon and black Angus shabu-shabu, hanwoo carpaccio, fried dishes, tofu porridge and butterfly cookie ice cream. The sesame sauce mixed with minced garlic at Syabudaum was good enough to order a refill.

Today I went looking for a healthy, light meal near Songdo Amusement Park and found a great shabu-shabu spot.

Where Syabudaum Songdo Amusement Park Branch is and when it opens
The restaurant I visited today is Syabudaum Songdo Amusement Park Branch, on the 1st floor of 95 Cheongnyang-ro, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. It's open Wednesday through Monday from 11:30 to 22:00, last order at 20:30, and closed Tuesdays.

If you're driving, there's free parking right in front of the restaurant, and you can also park at the Ramada Hotel's rear lot for free for 3 hours.

Partitioned tables and private rooms at Syabudaum
Syabudaum had a warm wood-toned atmosphere with clean interior design that really stood out. The tables were spaced generously apart and every seat had a partition, making it quiet and private — great for a family meal out or a date. There's also a separate private room, so it'd work well for events or group gatherings too.

Dinner course for two: first up, yuzu cheese salad
What we ordered today was the 2-person dinner course (Australian black Angus). Since we'd booked ahead, the shabu-shabu ingredients and side dishes were already set up when we arrived. The first course was a light yuzu cheese salad — the sauce wasn't overpowering, just subtle enough to freshen up the appetite nicely.

The shabu-shabu came with a clear broth, so it was light and easy to eat without feeling heavy. By the way, you can switch to a spicy doenjang (soybean paste) broth partway through the meal!

How the beef tendon and black Angus shabu-shabu tasted
The main shabu-shabu ingredients — beef tendon and black Angus — looked amazing just from the color of the meat, right?

I lightly cooked the beef tendon and piled it up with soy sauce and a heap of green onion — the sweet soy sauce, crisp green onion, and the chewy, savory tendon went together better than I expected. This was my first time having beef tendon in shabu-shabu, and I was completely won over.

We kept diligently eating the rest of the vegetables and beef too. You could really tell they used a good grade of black Angus — the meat wasn't tough at all, just tender and easy to eat.

The sauce combination the owner recommended
Syabudaum's shabu-shabu sauces come in three types: from left, soy sauce, sesame sauce, and chili sauce.
- Soy sauce + green onion
- Sesame sauce + minced garlic
- Chili sauce + minced garlic
This was the combo the owner told us about — sesame sauce with garlic was insane. It was so good I ended up getting a refill.

Hanwoo carpaccio and the fried course
The third course, hanwoo (Korean beef) carpaccio, melted the moment it hit my mouth, and the subtle scent of the truffle mayo sauce and cheese wasn't heavy at all — it just clung nicely to the palate.

The fourth course — fried eggplant, mushroom, and lotus root — was fried just right, super crispy.

The dipping sauce was tomato-based, not too overpowering, and cut through the greasiness just enough to pair well with the fried items.

Finishing with tofu porridge instead of udon noodles
For the final course, you could choose between udon noodles or porridge — we chose the porridge.

Interestingly, Syabudaum's porridge has tofu in it, which gave it a savory, healthy feel — oddly charming.

As the meal wrapped up, they brought out vanilla ice cream topped with a house-baked butterfly cookie, so we finished off with a sweet dessert too. Personally, this ranks among the best shabu-shabu restaurants I've visited, so if you're looking for a good spot in the old Songdo area, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.
