Weekend dinner grilled fish set with extra mackerel: Min Cook Apbadang
In short
Min Cook Apbadang Seongsa is a grilled fish restaurant in Seongsa-dong, Goyang, Gyeonggi. Visiting for a weekend dinner with family, the writer ordered a two-person seasonal grilled fish set (flounder, bottom cod, and cod neck) plus an extra mackerel set, which came with a generous two whole mackerel. The fish wasn't salty and the sotbap (hot-pot rice) and self-bar side dishes were all satisfying, making this a solid pick for a family fish dinner.

My family really loves grilled fish, but it's not easy to grill fish at home, so we often choose grilled fish as an eating-out option~~ Today's post is a review of Min Cook Apbadang Seongsa, a Seongsa-dong restaurant! I'll introduce you to Min Cook Apbadang Seongsa, where the variety of fresh seasonal grilled fish and the clean, delicious banchan (side dishes) left us super satisfied!

The menu board and lunch special
The menu board~ There's a variety of set meals along with grilled and braised dishes!! The lunch special assorted grilled and braised fish can be ordered until 2:30pm on weekdays~~

The weekend evening atmosphere — nearly full house
The interior is spacious and clean! Even though it's a grilled fish spot, it felt really comfortable~~ We visited during the weekend dinner time slot and it was nearly full! Definitely a Seongsa-dong favorite~~

The banchan that comes with the set, and cabbage buckwheat pancake
The side dishes that come with the set!! Each one was so clean and tasty!! The wrapping greens and salted seafood served alongside were also delicious~ My parents loved them a lot too!

The cabbage buckwheat pancake that comes with the set!! Really chewy and delicious~ haha The slightly sweet sauce drizzled on top made it even better haha

The 2-person seasonal grilled fish set — flounder, bottom cod, and cod neck
The seasonal grilled fish in the seasonal grilled fish set!! Three different kinds of fish come out — flounder, bottom cod, and cod neck!! The induction burner stays on so you can eat warm fish until the end of the meal~
It's a 2-person set, but it was really, really generous!!

Sotbap and nurungji (scorched rice)
At Min Cook Apbadang Seongsa, a Seongsa-dong favorite, the set comes with sotbap (hot-pot rice) like this, and the rice is so chewy and really, really delicious! You can also enjoy the nurungji (scorched rice) along with it~~ haha

Flounder
The flounder flesh was so plump, tender, and clean-tasting!! Best of all, the fish wasn't salty at all, which I really loved~~

Bottom cod
The bottom cod my parents raved about!!

The flesh was really plump, full of juice, and so delicious~~ The slightly chewy texture was great for the bottom cod~~

The extra mackerel grilled set — two whole mackerel
I love grilled mackerel so much that I ordered the mackerel grilled set as an extra, and the portion was really generous!! Two whole mackerel~~

The grilling level was great and it was well-prepped, so there wasn't a hint of fishy smell — full of juice and so delicious!! The grilled mackerel wasn't salty either, so it was truly tasty~

A big chunk of mackerel flesh with a warm spoonful of sotbap~ seriously so good!!! I highly recommend the grilled mackerel, crispy outside and moist inside~~

The self-bar banchan and takeout corner
Side dishes and extras like japchae are available at the self-bar!! The self-bar was clean too, and the doenjang (soybean paste) soup was savory and delicious~ haha

These grilled fish come vacuum-packed like this, so it seems great to buy some and eat at home too~~

There's a variety of salted seafood and side dishes, and they also sell soy crab, shrimp, and abalone preserved in soy sauce~~ Everything tasted so good that packing some banchan to go seems like a great idea too!! haha
Wrap-up — how was it as a family dinner out?
A perfect dinner with a variety of seasonal grilled fish and clean banchan~~ The fish was plump, full of juice, and so delicious~ haha Min Cook Apbadang Seongsa, a Seongsa-dong favorite, I highly recommend it as a go-to grilled fish restaurant~
