Baedagol Bakery House: a Goyang café to visit with a baby

My criteria for searching cafés changed a bit after the baby was born. Before, I just went hunting for pretty cafés with a good vibe, but now the first thing I check is whether strollers are allowed and whether it's a good place to bring a baby. Today's Goyang café, Baedagol Bakery House, was more than fine by that standard!

Actually, we'd visited this place once before, back when we were dating. Even then I thought both the indoor and outdoor spaces were pretty, and coming back after all this time, it's still well kept up haha. Back then it was just the two of us, and now there are three! Revisiting the same café with a baby felt strangely moving. Having a kid really does teach you all kinds of feelings you never knew before lol. Anyway, tangent aside — parking is fairly ample, and on a nice day I'd recommend the outdoor seats too at this Goyang café.

Outdoor garden seats and where children can play

From the outside, the outdoor seating at Baedagol Bakery House looked like there weren't that many spots, but as we walked further in, there turned out to be quite a lot of seats. The weather wasn't perfectly clear that day, which was a bit of a shame for sitting outside, but on the plus side, there was no harsh sun, which made it easier to move around with the baby.

At first we thought about sitting outside with the baby, but we worried about bugs and hurried inside instead haha. There's also a little play space for kids outdoors, which made it look like a good spot to visit with a child.

What bread Baedagol Bakery House has, and what we ordered

The first thing that caught my eye stepping inside was the bread! I'm not exactly a bread fanatic, but if something catches my eye I'll pick one up. From basic salt bread to basil tomato bread to cakes, the variety was wide enough to pick according to taste. We debated for a while and ended up going with the fresh melon snow flake shaved ice and salt bread this time — we're saving the other breads for a return visit.

Forks, knives, and bowls are self-serve as needed.

Stroller access, baby chairs, and the first-floor window seat

Baedagol Bakery House is a decently sized Goyang café with a second floor and even a rooftop, but we settled on the first floor to make moving around with the baby easier. The second floor was prettier, but the first floor was plenty good too. We especially loved sitting right by the floor-to-ceiling window I love, chatting with the baby and my husband and taking our time.

Baby chairs are provided too, so keep that in mind if you're visiting with a baby!

Even on a weekday, there were quite a few customers. I imagine there could be a wait at certain times on weekends.

Fresh melon snow ice, 25,000 won, with salt bread

Fresh melon snow flake shaved ice — ₩25,000

It had been ages since I'd had shaved ice, and fresh melon snow flake shaved ice at that! The melon was really sweet and delicious, and the snow flake ice itself had a subtle sweetness, so it was tastier than I expected.

My husband and I shared it, and I'd say it's about a 2–3 person serving. Pairing it with a piece of salt bread was such a great combo! My husband put shaved ice on top of the bread and said it was surprisingly good together lol.

We also picked up a jar of jam while we were at it.

And finally, we managed to snap a few photos of the baby haha. This Goyang café let us enjoy everything at once — bakery, drinks, shaved ice, and an atmospheric space. If you're looking for a café you can visit with a baby, Baedagol Bakery House is a solid choice.
