I went to Low Five Sinpung for lunch in Haenggung-dong. It's a spot where you can enjoy Western-style dishes like pizza and pasta together, located on the first floor of a great-looking building. There's a lot to see around Haenggung-dong, and the vibe changes from alley to alley, which makes picking a place to eat part of the fun. I went to enjoy a relaxed weekday lunch somewhere convenient to stop by after exploring Haenggung-dong. Since it's popular even for weekday lunch, I timed my visit for opening.

Inside Low Five Sinpung: window seats and the room

Walking in, you're greeted by a space that's comfortable yet stylishly decorated. It was the kind of place where you naturally want to linger over your meal. Being a spot that serves Western dishes, Low Five Sinpung has little touches throughout that add to the mood — I felt it was better suited to spending a little relaxed time in rather than just eating and leaving.

Inside there were several types of seating, and the window side had seats where you could dine leisurely while looking out at the view outside. It was nice for enjoying a relaxed atmosphere even on a weekday. The window seats and the cozy wood-toned space made for an even better mood. That's probably why I felt this would be a good spot for anyone looking for a Haenggung-dong date restaurant — it wasn't an overly formal restaurant vibe, so both the food and the space could be enjoyed comfortably.

Four items ordered by table QR at Low Five Sinpung

Ordering was possible right away with the table QR. What we ordered was the half-and-half pizza, vongole pasta, kimchi fried rice, and zero-sugar cola. For the half-and-half pizza, we picked the signature corn pizza and the Tex-Mex taco pizza.

Low Five Sinpung has a variety of menu items beyond what I ordered. Since Low Five is known for its pizza, being able to pick two flavors at once with the half-and-half option seems perfect for when you want to try a few things. When looking for Western food in Haenggung-dong, it's easy to only think of pizza or pasta, but at Low Five you can also order kimchi fried rice, so it would be easy to pick a menu even with people who have different tastes.

Trying each dish we ordered that day one by one, the overall balance across all three was really good. The corn pizza had a savory, sweet flavor, the Tex-Mex taco pizza was spicy and hearty, the vongole pasta was clean and light, and the kimchi fried rice had that familiar taste blending nicely with the soft egg on top. Even ordering several dishes, none of them overlapped in flavor, which I liked — you could enjoy a range of tastes.

Half-and-half pizza: signature corn plus Tex-Mex taco

First we tried the half-and-half pizza I'd been looking forward to. Half was corn pizza, half was Tex-Mex taco pizza, and the two halves had clearly different moods, so eating them together made for a nice variety of flavors.

The Tex-Mex taco pizza came piled high with toppings. On a spicy chipotle base with grilled shrimp, hot chicken, bacon, and salsa on top, it was full of flavor. This spicy kick paired well with the corn pizza too — great combo. The corn pizza had a savory yet sweet taste, with corn's distinctive clean savoriness and a mild sweetness that made it soft and delightful.

Eating the corn pizza and taco pizza together like this, with their sweet-savory contrast, meant I could enjoy them without feeling like it was too much. Going from the savory sweetness of the corn pizza to the spiciness of the taco pizza kept switching things up, so it always felt fresh. If you're looking for pizza in Haenggung-dong, I felt the half-and-half pizza at Low Five is a solid choice.

How is the vongole pasta at Low Five Sinpung?

The vongole pasta we ordered alongside the pizza wasn't overly seasoned or heavy with oil — overall it had a fresh, clean taste that I liked. The seasoning was just right, not too strong or aggressive, but not bland either — that light, clean quality actually made it feel more savory.

Eating the vongole pasta alongside dishes rich in toppings and flavor like the pizzas gave a sense of resetting the palate. Thanks to its light, clean taste, it paired well with the other dishes too.

Kimchi fried rice with a fried egg, mild enough for anyone

Kimchi fried rice usually makes you think spicy first, but this one wasn't too spicy — just the right level. There was soft egg on top, and eating it together made everything even softer with nice harmony. The kimchi fried rice on its own wasn't heavy at all, and with the egg it had a savory, soft feel that kept me reaching back for more.

Eating three dishes between two people wasn't too much at all, and the pizza was also easy to take home, so we tried out a variety of dishes we wanted to taste.

When you have a lunch plan in Haenggung-dong, you look for a place that covers both atmosphere and menu, and Low Five Sinpung fit that perfectly. The space itself feels comfortable, so it's good for coming to lunch with a friend, and it seems like a fine addition when planning a Haenggung-dong date meal too.
