What is the terrace at Kueodeukkutteu like?

Walking through the alleys of Haenggung-dong in Suwon, a red-brick building with COUR de GGOODD written in big letters catches your eye right away. The building spans two floors and each one has a terrace, so on a nice day you can really enjoy the outdoor dining atmosphere. If you're looking for a date-worthy terrace restaurant in Haenggung-dong, this place will be right up your alley ✨

When I went the sky was completely clear, so the terrace seats were super popular. White tables sit under parasols, and you can see straight down the Haenggung-dong alley while you eat, which made the whole meal feel like a little trip. Inside, cream-toned walls and wood furniture keep things calm, and when the sunlight comes in the photos turn out really pretty ❤️🔥 If you're coming with your dog, good news — dogs under 15kg are welcome on the terrace seats only. On a nice day, come enjoy brunch on the terrace with your dog 🫧🐶🐾

There's an object hanging from the ceiling with paintings and messages attached — turns out that's the signature piece of this space. Water and utensils are self-serve from the self-bar.

Honest review: two pastas and perilla oil ice cream

I ordered the pistachio lemon butter pasta, carrot + duck aglio olio, and perilla oil ice cream ❣️

First up, the pistachio lemon butter pasta. The spaghettini is stacked up like a little tower with mortadella and a slice of charred lemon on top — the plating alone made me go wow. The lemon scent spreads gently while the butter sauce wraps around everything richly, and the pistachios crunch through for a nutty finish. It sounds like it could be heavy, but the lemon keeps it clean all the way through 🤍

The carrot + duck aglio olio comes loaded with thick pieces of smoked duck, topped with a generous pile of thinly julienned carrot! I didn't expect the carrot's sweetness to pair so well with the oil base. Olives and cherry tomatoes pop up here and there so it never gets boring. A very, very healthy pasta 🍝

The pickles were radish pickle and jalapeño! Perfect to eat a piece of between bites of pasta when it starts feeling rich.

The finale was the perilla oil ice cream at ₩5,000 — you have to order this, no question. Vanilla ice cream topped with perilla oil, whole perilla seeds, and Maldon salt, and the nutty-salty combo is genuinely something new. It was the perfect palate cleanser after finishing the pasta..🤍
Is Kueodeukkutteu in Suwon worth a visit?
Since it's tucked inside the Haenggung-dong alleys, it's great for walking around, and it fits well into a route that includes visiting Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and the Haenggung Palace before eating. My favorite part was that with no break time, you can go even at an awkward hour without worrying. If you want to enjoy a proper plate of pasta in that Haenggung-dong café-terrace atmosphere, you should definitely check this place out!
