I had a great meal at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan Branch on the 2nd floor of Grand Via Star near Dongtan Station — everything from hinoki steam to spring rolls to shabu-shabu :) The interior was spacious and just so clean and comfortable! You get 100 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes) total, which is plenty of time to eat at a relaxed pace :) 🐷

What comes with the all-you-can-eat set, from hinoki steam to porridge
Weekday lunch is ₩16,900, and dinner/weekend is ₩19,900. Toddlers (ages 4–7) are ₩7,900, and children (elementary school) are ₩12,900! You choose your hinoki steam and broth, and you can pick any broth you like, so order whichever shabu-shabu broth suits your taste.
Pyeonbaek Hoegwan lets you enjoy unlimited salad bar, hinoki steam, shabu-shabu, spring rolls, mukguksu, and porridge 🐷❤️ We ordered the dinner/weekend all-you-can-eat set with hinoki steam and half katsuo, half spicy broth 💫
Tips for eating it the tastiest way are written right on the table, so check those out 🙃 There's also a receipt review event running, so write a review and grab a free can of a drink too!

A kids zone you can watch from the table
Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan has a kids zone! It's a moderate size, not too big or too small, so you can see the kids playing at a glance, which made me feel much more at ease 💫❤️ Thanks to that we could eat comfortably, so I'd recommend this as a family dining spot :)

The salad bar and unlimited meat at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan
The salad bar is also unlimited. Acorn jelly, salad, fried rice, pasta, tteokbokki (spicy rice cake), fries, dinner rolls — a wide variety of dishes, so it was fun picking whatever I liked ✨ The tteokbokki was genuinely delicious!

Everything from vegetables for the shabu-shabu to vegetables for the spring rolls was prepared fresh. And both the woo-samgyeop (thin-sliced short rib) and pork neck are unlimited refills! Getting unlimited meat too made it even more satisfying 🐷 We got to eat generous portions of everything — hinoki steam, shabu-shabu, spring rolls 🙏🏻❤️

There are three sauces — peanut, chili, and ponzu — so you can pick whatever suits your taste for spring rolls or shabu-shabu 🙂 Personally the tteokbokki was so good I went back for seconds several times ,,👍 The kids ate the fries and fried rice happily too. There were plenty of vegetable options for the spring rolls, so grab a big pile of whatever you like ✨
Hinoki-steamed meat with bean sprouts and rice-paper wraps
There's a bed of bean sprouts laid out underneath, so you can eat the meat and vegetables together with the sprouts — that's the hinoki steam here! It comes packed with fresh meat, napa cabbage, bok choy, mushrooms, dumplings, shrimp, and sweet pumpkin, so there's a wide range to enjoy 🙏🏻
It's not just meat — you get vegetables too, so it felt more filling and worked well for eating with a kid! The hinoki steam is refillable too.

Try putting the meat and vegetables from the hinoki steam onto rice paper to make your own spring rolls 💨 Piling on lots of vegetables from the salad bar and dipping into sauce made it so good. Eating meat and veggies together gave a nice texture, and even vegetables I don't usually eat much tasted better wrapped up like this ,,❤️
Spicy broth shabu-shabu, then kal-guksu and porridge
Now it's time for shabu-shabu! 🐷 We ordered half katsuo broth, half spicy broth, and the spicy broth was really my favorite :) Just spicy enough to warm you up from the inside 🙃 You just drop in whatever you like — meat, napa cabbage, bok choy, mushrooms — and simmer it, and that's it ✨

The broth itself is so tasty that everything you add tastes good. Eating the shabu-shabu right after the hinoki steam made for an even more filling meal 🙃
Once you finish the shabu-shabu, add in the mukguksu noodles 🙏🏻. Cooked in the spicy broth, the fiery soup soaked into the noodles so well. The noodles were soft and chewy, pairing perfectly with the broth 🙃 I thought I was too full to eat more, but somehow there was still room .. 🤣
The true finale is the porridge! Rice, egg, and dried seaweed flakes go into the leftover shabu-shabu broth. The egg turned out soft and the seaweed flakes added a nutty flavor, so even the kids enjoyed the porridge. Since it's made from the leftover broth, it tasted even better than plain porridge 🙃

On the way out, there's a delicious misugaru (roasted grain powder) slush with a light icy crunch. Just sweet enough that the kids drank it up happily!

Is Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Dongtan Branch worth it for a family meal?
With hinoki steam, spring rolls, shabu-shabu, mukguksu, and porridge, plus an unlimited salad bar, it was a hearty and generous meal. The meat and vegetables were varied and fresh, so overall everything from the hinoki steam to the shabu-shabu tasted great! It works well not just for lunch but for a dinner family outing or a group gathering, and with the kids zone, I'd recommend visiting with kids too ✨❤️
