If you want duruchigi and sotbap together near Gonjiam

I’d been craving a proper Korean meal lately, so while looking for good places around Gonjiam, I ended up at Oneuldo Utja Chowol (오늘도웃자 초월). I also looked into places near Chowol Station, and I loved the menu combination right away because I could have duruchigi (spicy stir-fried meat or seafood) and sotbap (rice cooked in an individual pot) together.

I’m especially fond of sotbap, so I went in quietly excited—and afterward, it became somewhere I want to revisit for the rice alone.

Was parking in front of the restaurant easy?

Parking is one of those things you end up worrying about when going out to eat, right?

Parking in front of Oneuldo Utja Chowol

Oneuldo Utja Chowol has parking right in front, so it was easy to visit by car. I didn’t have to park far away and walk or circle around looking for a space, which made things feel easier from the moment I arrived. The lot was very spacious too, so there was no parking stress at all.

If you’re looking for a Gonjiam restaurant with convenient parking too, I think you’ll really appreciate this part.

A clean restaurant that felt pleasant throughout the meal

The first thing I noticed upon entering was how clean everything was.

Food matters at a restaurant, of course, but when the tables and surroundings are clean, the meal feels even nicer.

Clean dining area inside the restaurant

Oneuldo Utja Chowol itself felt clean, so I could sit down and eat comfortably. When I look for places near Chowol Station, I care about cleanliness as much as the food, and the overall tidy feel made a good first impression.

Glossy sotbap I still think about without side dishes

Unexpectedly, the sotbap was what I remember most here.

When I lifted the lid, the rice grains were just gleaming. You could tell at a glance that it had been properly cooked. One spoonful was enough to show that the rice was delicious even without side dishes, and honestly, it made me want to come back just for the rice.

I came expecting only the duruchigi while looking for a Gonjiam restaurant, then completely fell for the sotbap.

I think fellow rice lovers will understand this feeling.

Sotbap whose final nurungji is too good to miss

The nice thing about sotbap is that it doesn’t end with the rice. After scooping out and enjoying the rice, I could finish with nurungji (toasted scorched rice), which made the meal feel even more filling.

Finishing with nutty nurungji made my mouth feel settled too. After the spicy duruchigi, a bite of nurungji was a surprisingly great match. From the first scoop of rice to the final scorched-rice crust, it felt like I had fully enjoyed one pot of sotbap.

Spicy squid duruchigi that kept me reaching for more

Even now, I want to eat the squid duruchigi I had as the main dish again. Its spicy seasoning really woke up my appetite, and I kept reaching for it.

The squid pieces weren’t small either—they were large and thick, with a properly chewy bite. Having a bite of spicy duruchigi with the glossy sotbap made me understand exactly why this pairing works. I found this place while searching for Gonjiam restaurants, and the squid duruchigi is something I’d order again next time.

Tender pork alongside the squid

The pork in the squid duruchigi surprised me too. Since squid was the main attraction, I wasn’t expecting much from the pork, but it was genuinely tender. It wasn’t tough or dry at all; it was easy to chew, and that first bite caught me slightly off guard.

Tender pork in the duruchigi

With chewy squid and tender pork in the same dish, the contrasting textures made it fun to eat. It stood out among Gonjiam restaurants because I could enjoy both textures together. The spicy seasoning brought everything together so well that I couldn’t stop eating rice.

A soft giant rolled omelet that tamed the heat

The rolled omelet I had on the side also stayed with me more than I expected. Rolled omelet usually brings a familiar flavor to mind, but the texture here was truly soft. It went down moist and gently, and I liked it from the very first bite.

Eating it with the spicy squid duruchigi made the heat easier to handle between bites. For me, it was satisfying enough to call a life-best rolled omelet.

If you’re looking for a place near Chowol Station, I think trying the rolled omelet too would make for a pretty great combination.

Self-serve side dishes, just as much as you need

The side dishes could be refilled at the self-service station.

If I ran short on a side dish while eating, I could just bring back as much as I needed, which was actually convenient.

The cucumber really takes the edge off the spicy flavor :)

I didn’t need to call over a staff member, and I could take exactly what I wanted, so the flow of the meal wasn’t interrupted.

From the sotbap to the squid duruchigi, tender pork, and rolled omelet, every dish was memorable, so I’d like to return to this Gonjiam restaurant.
