Seongsu café hidden up a stairway for ice cream croffle and ade: Biat
In short
Biat Seongsu is a café and dessert spot on the second floor of a building tucked into a vintage-looking alley in Seongsu, Seoul. The ice cream croffle (9,000 won), plus seasonal watermelon juice and apple lychee ade, were enjoyed at a window seat flooded with sunlight — the croffle was great fresh off the griddle, though everything overall leaned quite sweet. It's a hideaway-like café just off Seongsu's crowded main street, good for a quiet chat.

Do you all go to Seongsu a lot these days to check out pop-up stores and showrooms? I love the neighborhood's uniquely hip vibe so I go there once in a while ! !! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ !! Today I want to introduce a hidden-gem café just off the crowded main street, where you can fully enjoy a relaxed moment!
How to find Biat Seongsu tucked in the alley

I found Biat Seongsu (비아트 성수) while strolling leisurely through one of Seongsu's vintage-feeling alleys. If you're walking and spot a cute little white mini signboard and a stylish wooden arrow sign on the wall, bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ haha

This place is on the second floor of the building, so you can't really see inside from the street. Follow the sign up the outdoor metal stairs and the interior comes into view !!!!! 🛗🛗🛗🛗🛗🛗🛗🛗

Once you climb the stairs and open the door, a cozy, bright space totally different from the alley outside unfolds! (ღ'ᴗ'ღ) ~~~
What we ordered: ice cream croffle and seasonal drinks

So many good-looking desserts 🎂🍰🧁🥮🍩 croffle, Malenka cake, even affogato! I really wanted ice cream so I ordered the ice cream croffle ~ ₩&@

For drinks I ordered the seasonal menu — watermelon juice and apple lychee ade 🍉🍎🍏🍏🍎🍉🍏🍎🍎🍉🍎🍏🍎🍉🍎🍏🍎

The vibe and the seats
Overall the space has warm wood-toned tables mixed with what look like plush white sofas, and it's pretty spacious 🌿🌿🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

But the real highlight here is the afternoon sunlight pouring in through the big windows ☀️ Just sitting there listening to soft music feels healing, you know what I mean?!?!?!?!
So how did it taste?
Finally our order arrived 🫠

The waffle and drinks made an entrance that made my heart skip just from the visuals! 🍹🍷🍵

Overall, Biat Seongsu was really sweet.
There was a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a thick, crispy-baked croffle 🧇🍦 The croffle was just fresh out of the oven so it was delicious, and the ice cream was super sweet. Still, it went well with the croffle ~ !

Apple lychee ade 🍎🥂 With its fizzy sparkle, it was the best pairing to go light and refreshing alongside the sweet dessert — my favorite of the two. The cold watermelon juice 🍉🧊 was 100% watermelon, but it wasn't quite to my taste . . ㅠ It was way too sweet too. If you like sweet stuff, though, I'd recommend it!!

For anyone looking for a Seongsu café
Spending time in this quiet, relaxed space with tasty desserts, I honestly lost track of time and just felt healed!!!! Finding a hideaway-like café where I could enjoy my own space fully, just off Seongsu's crowded, busy hotspot streets, made for an even better day.
If you're looking for a place in Seongsu that's not noisy, comfortable for chatting quietly, with that warm, vintage French vibe that's great for photos, be sure to stop by Biat Seongsu! You'll fall for the coziness of the space and won't regret it at all. (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
