Today I want to share a visit to a new restaurant I'd had my eye on near Seolleung Station. I really love Japanese food in general, and I'm especially weak for gyukatsu (Japanese beef cutlet) — crispy on the outside, juicy inside. When I heard a gyukatsu specialty spot had opened near Seolleung Station, I went in with high expectations, haha><
So the place I'm introducing today is Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch!

Gyuen Dang, located near Seolleung Station!

This Seolleung gyukatsu spot just opened not long ago!! So many new restaurants have been popping up near Seolleung Station lately, and it's fun checking them out one by one. When I heard about this new gyukatsu place, I couldn't wait to visit — I'd been keeping an eye out for it since I already love Japanese food.

Inside Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch: is it good for groups and families?
The interior of Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch is clean and spacious, so it can easily accommodate groups! Walking inside, I was greeted by a space that felt even more comfortable and roomy than I expected.
The interior is modern and well kept, making it a great date spot, and equally suitable for company dinners or any kind of group gathering. The tables are spaced generously apart, so you can eat comfortably without feeling crowded, and there are plenty of baby chairs available too, so families should have an easy time here.

Ordering tenderloin and sirloin gyukatsu at Gyuen Dang
We ordered both the tenderloin gyukatsu and sirloin gyukatsu at Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch. Looking at the menu, plenty of Japanese dishes caught my eye, but since gyukatsu was the whole point of the day, we didn't hesitate to order one of each, haha

Tenderloin on the left, sirloin on the right. They give you Isigny butter, too ❤️

The marbling on the meat is incredible ㅠ — this practically looks like top-grade beef. On top of that, the breading looked so crispy already, it looked delicious. The moment our order arrived, I let out an audible gasp at the visuals!
Tenderloin on the left, sirloin on the right — the marbling was so vivid and pretty?? Quality like this made me think it might genuinely be top-grade beef, the bright red flesh looking so fresh haha. The breading on the outside was fried thin and crisp, mouthwatering just to look at ~ And they even served it with the famously high-end Isigny butter, which raised my expectations for the taste even more!

How to grill gyukatsu on the Isigny butter hot plate
At Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch, you grill the gyukatsu yourself right at the table. First, they heat the hot plate up~

We melted the Isigny butter lightly on the hot plate to coat it with a savory aroma, then placed the gyukatsu pieces on one by one~ With a sizzling sound and that irresistible buttery smell spreading through the air, it was really hard to hold back haha ㅠ. Once it's grilled golden brown on both sides, it's ready to eat!

How does the gyukatsu taste with the house sauce and wasabi?
Taking a bite of the well-grilled gyukatsu at Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch, it was so full of juice it practically melted in my mouth! The meat was so tender that the chewiness and softness doubled up together?!
It's savory and delicious even on its own, but adding a bit of the house sauce or a touch of sharp wasabi cut through the richness that's typical of gyukatsu, so we could keep enjoying it deliciously without ever feeling overwhelmed by the end, haha
Why Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch is worth a trip to Seolleung Station
❤️Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch❤️ If you love tender hanwoo or premium beef, I really hope you'll go to Gyuen Dang and try this juicy, melt-in-your-mouth gyukatsu! You can really feel the textbook definition of crispy outside, tender inside, and both the tenderloin and sirloin have their own distinct charm, so it's fun picking whichever suits your taste~
If you're torn on which to choose, ordering both like we did and comparing the two flavors is a great way to go!! The dining environment is very pleasant and clean, making it perfect for group gatherings or date nights, and beyond gyukatsu, they have a solid lineup of other Japanese dishes like omurice, rice bowls, and curry, so it's a great spot to order a variety and enjoy a hearty meal depending on your mood, haha
When you want to heal with delicious food in the middle of a busy day, or you're near Seolleung Station looking for a good-vibe, can't-go-wrong Japanese meal or a hearty dinner, I genuinely and wholeheartedly recommend Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch!
