In short
Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap is a Korean restaurant in Paju, Gyeonggi, serving ssam (leaf wraps) sets with pork, squid, and fresh vegetables. A restaurant atmosphere suited to family meals
The interior was decorated in warm wood tones, giving it a calm, tidy feel. It kept the comforting character of a Korean restaurant while looking modern and clean overall, so it was lovely to settle in for a meal. The tables were spacious and there was plenty of room between seats—perfect for families or bringing your parents along! With both neatly prepared food and a pleasant setting, this Simhaksan Korean set-meal restaurant would be a great choice for a family dinner too ✮⋆˙

Our Deul Set order with grilled mackerel
Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap’s signature dishes are the Deul Set and Kkot Set. The Deul Set comes with spicy stir-fried pork, stir-fried squid, doenjang stew, thick soybean paste, and stone-pot rice, along with assorted side dishes and wrap vegetables. The Kkot Set adds grilled fish to the Deul Set.
We ordered two Deul Sets + grilled mackerel ☑️ Adding mackerel separately gave us meat, seafood, and fish all together, making the spread even more abundant ෆ

Starter dishes and neatly prepared side dishes
As we waited after ordering, sweet pumpkin porridge and a salad with black sesame dressing arrived first. The smooth porridge was gentle on the stomach, and the nutty black sesame salad got my appetite going even before the main meal.
Then a neat assortment of side dishes arrived, including seasoned vegetables, kimchi, and pickles. None was overly seasoned, and every dish let its ingredients shine—there wasn’t a single one I ignored. It was convenient that we could get as many extra side dishes as we wanted from the self-service bar .ᐟ With such a variety of banchan (Korean side dishes) and everything served so neatly, it felt like a wonderful Paju meal spot for days when you crave a proper home-cooked meal.

Unlimited wrap vegetables at the self-service bar
My favorite part of Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap was the unlimited wrap-vegetable self-service bar. There were fresh lettuce and perilla leaves, of course, as well as kale, cabbage, cucumber peppers, and several other vegetables. It’s disappointing when you go to a ssambap restaurant and the wrap vegetables run short, right? Here, I could take as much of the vegetables I wanted without feeling self-conscious and enjoy ssambap properly.
I don’t usually eat a lot of vegetables, but that day I piled my plate high with every kind hahaha. Just make sure to take only what you can finish and not leave any behind .ᐟ

Stir-fried pork and squid on a hot stone plate
The main dishes, spicy stir-fried pork and stir-fried squid, arrived together on a warm stone plate. It stayed hot until the end of the meal, which made it even more delicious. The pork was tender with no gaminess, and its sweet-spicy sauce had a subtle smoky flavor that went so well with white rice. The squid was plump and not chewy, offering a different texture from the pork.
Put a spoonful of stone-pot rice on a fresh wrap leaf, then add the pork, squid, and thick soybean paste for one big wrap—the combination was seriously heaven ..! Switching up the side dishes inside each wrap gave every bite a new flavor. With plentiful main dishes and wrap vegetables together, I could absolutely recommend this as a Paju outlet ssambap spot.
Moist grilled mackerel
We also tried the grilled mackerel we ordered with the Deul Set. It was nicely browned outside while the flesh inside was moist and tender, separating easily as soon as I touched it with my chopsticks. The salty, nutty mackerel over warm stone-pot rice was delicious enough to finish a whole bowl of rice on its own .ᐟ
We made generous wraps with the stir-fried pork and squid, then had bites of grilled mackerel in between, which made the meal feel even more varied. If you love grilled fish, I recommend adding mackerel to the Deul Set too ◟̄◞̄❤︎
Finishing with doenjang stew and stone-pot rice nurungji
The doenjang stew bubbled away on the burner, so we could enjoy it warm throughout the meal. It had the deep, savory flavor of fermented soybean paste, yet the broth stayed clean and kept drawing me back for another spoonful. After the pork and squid, a spoonful of doenjang stew felt like it refreshed my whole palate.
The rice came freshly cooked in a stone pot, with a fluffy yet pleasantly chewy texture. We transferred the rice to bowls, poured warm water into the stone pot, and let it become nurungji (toasted rice crust) by the end of the meal. Finishing with that warm, nutty nurungji completed such a satisfying Korean meal .. ෆ

A hearty Korean table after shopping
If you’re craving Korean food that is both comforting and filling after shopping at Paju Lotte Premium Outlets, visit Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap .ᐟ I recommend it as a Simhaksan Korean set-meal restaurant for a beautifully prepared table, and as a Paju meal spot whenever you’re craving a hearty home-style meal ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა
