Dongtan Chinese restaurant summer menu: cold jjamppong at Bultina
In short
Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch is a cockle jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) restaurant at Namgwangjang square in Dongtan, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. The summer-only cold jjamppong came with a whole octopus, shrimp and jellyfish, and shaved ice piled over the broth kept every bite cold, while the cinnamon-scented old-style tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) in the large size made a good pairing. With 90 minutes free at Daeun public parking lot and no off-hours, Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong is an easy place to come back to.

I kept craving Bultina's hearty, refreshing, clean-tasting jjamppong, so I went back to Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong. ✅ A well-known Dongtan restaurant right on Namgwangjang square — the traditional tangsuyuk is fantastic and the cockle jjamppong is delicious, making it a great lunch spot too. There was even a hangover-cure banner up, so here's my honest review of this go-to cold jjamppong spot.

Where is Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch, and where do you park?
Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch sits on the 1st floor of 149 Nojak-ro, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and I loved that parking at the Daeun public lot gets you 90 minutes free. The restaurant is right in front of the public lot, so it was an easy walk and a comfortable meal.
- 🚗 Parking: Daeun public parking lot, 90 minutes free / right in front of the lot

- ⏰ Open daily 11:00–21:00, no off-hours — meaning you can eat any time within business hours
With no off-hours and long business hours, you can get a great meal anytime, and the interior is spacious and clean. Living up to its reputation as a famous restaurant — even though I arrived past lunch rush — the hall is large but turnover is fast, so the wait was short.
Self-serve side dishes: onions and pickled radish
The self-serve corner has jjamppong's best friends — onions and pickled radish — ready for you to grab from the self-serve bar.
Outside and inside the Dongtan Namgwangjang branch
Right as you walk in, there's a counter, extra chairs, a high chair, and a stroller-friendly table.

Cockle jjamppong, made fresh with a generous portion of domestic cockles. ✔️ All the prices are reasonable.

Women seemed to sit by the window with the ad posted, men lowered the blinds, and solo diners could enjoy a nice atmospheric spot by the window — a couple on a date was sitting there too.
I could see through the window that the place was busy, and once inside it felt very spacious, clean, with a subtly nice interior — both sides of the entrance were packed since it was lunchtime.

I was out shopping for gift sets and gift certificates and thought, since it was nearby, 'why not try that summer delicacy?' Customers were eating in groups — families, friends — a sign of its popularity ^^
Menu and how to order at the table kiosk
At Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong Dongtan Namgwangjang Branch, you order right at your seat via kiosk! I was looking for something clean and cool, and the summer cold jjamppong plus a small tangsuyuk were affordably priced and absolutely delicious.

The food arrives: cold jjamppong and old-style tangsuyuk

On one side of the storefront was a sign for the new summer-only menu item, 'cold jjamppong,' aimed at the sweltering summer heat. I asked hesitantly if they were still doing it, and when they said yes, I was so relieved~~~

It was exactly what I wanted — that craving for cold broth — so we ordered it right away along with tangsuyuk~~
You can choose a spice level from 1 to 4. Level 1 (default) is tasty spicy, Level 2 is hearty spicy, Level 3 is fiery spicy, and the ultimate Level 4 is insanely spicy.
What is the summer-only cold jjamppong like?
A whole octopus sat proudly in the bowl.

Shrimp, vegetables, and more — the jellyfish had a nice chewy bite too, and the rich broth topped with shaved ice cooled me down to my core. A truly happy moment.

Clean, cool, and sweet — really great. My forever companion says next summer we should remember to order the double portion~~

Old-style tangsuyuk (large): the classic the whole family likes
I ordered tangsuyuk and forgot to ask for the sauce on the side, but since it came out fried so crisp, it worked fine even sauce-covered.

The tangsuyuk and the summer cold jjamppong were an absolutely fantastic combo, so good. We really nailed this order — we ate smiling, exchanging looks that said 'this is delicious.' Try it and you'll get why — you'll want to recommend it to everyone around you.

The crisply fried tangsuyuk paired with vegetables, and the sweet sauce — a fantastic match. The cinnamon aroma and the malt syrup sauce seemed to be what really made the tangsuyuk shine — truly delicious.
Light batter, lots of pork loin — that's how the tangsuyuk ends up tasting so high-quality and delicious. Good thing we ordered the large.

Crispiness on a whole different level, addictive tangsuyuk — this was our unanimous favorite haha~~
Final verdict: who Bultina Kkomak Jjamppong suits
That summer delicacy taste I couldn't forget from early summer had me coming back for the cold jjamppong — genuinely delicious, and paired with the cinnamon-scented tangsuyuk it's a fantastic combo. A great spot for family dinners, staff get-togethers, even club gatherings. If you're wondering where to grab a hangover cure in Dongtan, this is the place to know — a great lunch spot, easy parking, a good location, a spacious hall, a clean interior, and friendly staff all in one. Highly recommend.
