Yongin Yangji barbecue restaurant: baby back ribs, Rustic Smoke House
In short
Rustic Smoke House Yongin Yangji Branch is a Texas barbecue and steak restaurant on Hanteo-ro in Yangji-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. On a drive with her mom, the writer ordered a house salad, pesce pasta, half baby back ribs and an americano for 54,000 won in total, and the ribs were lean and tender enough for anyone who struggles with greasy food. Even her mom, who rarely enjoys Western food, happily finished every bite, which makes Rustic Smoke House an easy pick for a family meal out.

On a Wednesday, after going to church with my mom, we decided to go for a drive and find some good meat — so we looked for a Yongin Yangji restaurant.
We ended up at Rustic Smoke House Yongin Yangji Branch, a place for Texas barbecue and steak. My mom usually isn't great with Western food, but she surprised me by really enjoying it this time.
Where is Rustic Smoke House Yongin Yangji Branch, and is there parking?

The exterior of this Yongin Yangji barbecue restaurant
Set against a dense forest backdrop, the exterior felt like a small roadside restaurant somewhere in rural America. The low single-story building, vintage-style walls, and the red RUSTIC HOUSE sign on the roof all came together for a really exotic vibe.

There's also a spacious outdoor garden and photo zone, nice to walk around before or after eating. There's a forest and stream out front, plus some adorable rabbits — kids would probably love it.
Inside the restaurant: the vibe near Everland
Stepping inside, a wide, open space with an American vintage feel opens up.
High ceilings, long wood tables, and lighting and neon signs scattered around gave it the feel of an actual barbecue joint in the US.
The lush green scenery beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows blended beautifully with the vintage interior, and the window seats were great for enjoying that green view while eating.
When we visited, there were plenty of families as well as groups meeting up or having gatherings.
There are baby chairs, which is great for moms, and this is actually a filming location for Woojoo Merry Me, a show I used to watch — so I got a little excited seeing it in person, haha.
The self-service bar

One side of the restaurant had a cute little self-service bar set up separately.

It had snacks and crackers that go well with barbecue, and you could take as much as you wanted — perfect for nibbling while waiting for the food.
What's on the barbecue and steak platters?

A platter is a dish with several kinds of food on one plate, meant for a group to share different flavors together.
The steak platter
A hearty steak platter that lets you try chuck flap tail, flat iron, and pork neck all at once. It also comes with shrimp and grilled vegetables, so it looked great for sharing among several people.

The barbecue platter
A generous plate of barbecue with pulled pork, brisket, and loin ribs. It comes with bread, fries, and coleslaw too, so it looked great for trying a variety of barbecue with a group.

What we ordered

- House salad ₩7,000
- Pesce pasta ₩18,000
- Baby back ribs (half) ₩25,000
- Americano ₩4,000
- Total ₩54,000
Beyond barbecue and steak, there's a wide range of pasta and salads too, so it was easy for our family to pick something even with different tastes.
The house salad

My mom wanted salad, so I ordered it without thinking too much — and it was so good. I was first surprised by the portion size for a side dish, and the vegetables were genuinely fresh.

There was a generous amount of cheese and a savory topping piled on the cherry tomatoes, with a slightly rich texture and a savory flavor reminiscent of tuna — really delicious.
It paired well with the sweet-and-tangy balsamic sauce too, and my mom, who usually isn't a fan of sauces, ate it happily, which made it even more memorable.
A table piled high with food

With baby back ribs, pesce pasta, and the house salad all laid out together, the table looked incredibly generous just to look at.

The ribs came with French fries, warm dinner rolls, and coleslaw, which made for fun combinations, and the tangy pickles kept refreshing my palate along the way.
I don't usually eat fries, but this place was different. I dipped them properly in ketchup and enjoyed every bit.
With some Western food places, you get hungry again soon after eating, but here I stayed full all day, haha. That's apparently why extreme sports club members come here as a group for their get-togethers too, haha.
The baby back ribs: lean, tender and easy to eat

What I enjoyed most was the baby back ribs.
Pulling the meat apart, it was full of juice and so tender, almost delicate. It wasn't tender because it was greasy — the meat itself was just naturally lean and soft, which surprised me all over again as I ate.

The seasoning went all the way through, and even I, who doesn't do well with greasy food, could eat it comfortably.

Putting the coleslaw, salad, and ribs into the warm bread and eating it like a sandwich felt like a completely different dish altogether.
The pesce pasta
The spicy pesce pasta came loaded with seafood, and the noodles were cooked just right — really delicious. I asked for it to be made less spicy since the spice level is adjustable, and the subtle heat woke up my appetite while the seasoning was exactly right.

Switching between the ribs and the spicy pasta, the flavors complemented each other really well.
Steak and coffee to finish in Cheoin-gu
The americano used Starbucks beans, I think, because it had a lovely aroma and paired really well with the ribs. The owner and staff were kind too, so we finished the meal feeling great.
Most of all, while eating, my mom said for the first time, "With places this good and this nice around, I want to live a long life" — which made this meal especially memorable to me.
The Naver review event
Through the Naver review event, you can get a cat keyring. It's such a cute, satisfyingly weighty little cat keyring.
Final thoughts on Rustic Smoke House Yongin Yangji Branch

The food was generous and the meat was tender, so I'd recommend this as a place for a family meal with your parents or for a special occasion dinner.
The food was great, but what really stuck with me was how warmly the owner and staff treated us.
If you're looking for a restaurant near Everland, it's a great stop for an outing, and following it up with tea at Hanteo Limegrass afterward sounds like a nice course too.
This time I had the baby back ribs, so next time I really want to try the steak platter, which is apparently popular for steak in Cheoin-gu too.
