Yongin jjamppong restaurant with cinnamon tangsuyuk: Doseogwan Dwitjip
In short
Doseogwan Dwitjip is a Chinese restaurant with house-made noodles, tucked behind Cheongdeok Library in Cheongdeok-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin. Visiting at the lunch peak, the writer ordered gochu jjamppong (spicy chili noodle soup), gochu jjajang (spicy black bean noodles) and mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and remembers most the thin noodles soaking up broth and sauce, plus the cinnamon note in the tangsuyuk sauce. Bold and spicy as the food was, Doseogwan Dwitjip left no heavy feeling afterward.

It's been a while, so today I'm reviewing a real jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) place haha. Back in the day I used to chase down jjamppong spots like a real jjamppong hunter lol, but lately I've slowed down (wedding stuff). Jjamppong is so good but it really packs on the pounds lol.
Anyway, today I went to a genuinely solid spot. It's Doseogwan Dwitjip (도서관뒷집), located in Cheongdeok-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin haha.

There's plenty of parking near the restaurant, so we parked there haha. It's tucked behind Cheongdeok Library, which is probably why it's called Doseogwan Dwitjip (literally 'the house behind the library') — the name alone sounds kind of like a café, which I thought was a fun detail haha.

We came during the lunch peak and there were already a lot of customers. I figured it must already be known as a jjamppong hotspot in Cheongdeok-dong.

Inside Doseogwan Dwitjip: atmosphere and seating behind Cheongdeok Library
The dining room is spacious and comfortable. Lots of families with kids!! True to the name, there were even some books around, and the vibe felt kind of library-like too? Anyway, it was such a fresh idea!! The big picture windows made the whole space feel great. First things first, let's order — check the menu photos below!

We ordered gochu jjamppong, gochu jjajang, and mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) haha.

Side dishes, free rice and dining with kids at Doseogwan Dwitjip
After ordering, they laid out danmuji (pickled radish) and onion, and there was kimchi at the self-serve bar for anyone who wanted it! They also had kids' tableware, so it seemed like a great spot to bring children. And since rice refills are free, I figured I'd mix rice into the jjamppong broth afterward!!
Since everything is stir-fried to order, there was a bit of a wait, but chatting with my fiancé passed the time and then the jjamppong arrived! I think jjamppong that's cooked fresh to order and takes a little wait, like at Doseogwan Dwitjip, is the real deal compared to the kind that comes out instantly. That said, it wasn't a long wait either lol. Anyway, here's my gochu jjamppong haha.

How the gochu jjamppong tastes: thin house-made noodles are the point
Doesn't Doseogwan Dwitjip's gochu jjamppong look seriously fierce? The broth has just the right smoky char and a dense, packed flavor. Their noodles are homemade and on the thinner side, and maybe because of that, the broth really soaks into them. The seafood was fresh, there was plenty of meat, and the king prawn was excellent too!
The portion was so big I wanted to mix rice into the broth but couldn't finish it ㅠㅠㅠ still thinking about it now. Most of all!!! Even though the flavor was bold and spicy, my stomach didn't feel uncomfortable at all after eating the jjamppong!!
This next one is my fiancé's gochu jjajang!

Was the gochu jjajang at Doseogwan Dwitjip worth ordering?
The gochu jjajang was a classic, old-school jjajangmyeon style with really generous ingredients. The chunks were big and hearty. And because the noodles were thin, the sauce clung thickly to them without turning watery. This was seriously great lol.

Cinnamon in the mini tangsuyuk sauce?
Next up, my beloved mini tangsuyuk haha. It was crispy outside and tender inside, and delicious, with a tangsuyuk sauce that had a subtle cinnamon note — unique, and it worked really well!! I usually like dipping it in chili powder soy sauce, but somehow at this place I kept reaching for the sauce instead!!
Is Doseogwan Dwitjip worth a visit in Yongin?
At Doseogwan Dwitjip I properly worked through gochu jjajang, gochu jjamppong, and mini tangsuyuk 🌶️ The highlight here is definitely the thin homemade noodles! Because the noodles are thin and chewy, the spicy jjajang and jjamppong seasonings soak into them beautifully, making everything taste even better. Pairing it all with the crispy mini tangsuyuk was such a perfect combo 🥢 If you're looking for a great jjamppong spot in Cheongdeok-dong, Giheung-gu, I highly recommend this one 💕
