Here's my review of Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch, a great spot to visit near Seokchon Gobun Station when you're craving a spicy, punchy bowl of udon!

I usually love Kkang Udon and think about it pretty often. But when there's no branch nearby or the wait is too long, you end up looking for a similar-style udon place, right? For those moments, I want to recommend Haengbokhan Udon Gage as a Seokchon Gobun Station restaurant to visit instead of Kkang Udon!

What is Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch like?

Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch is a 24-hour udon and bunsik (Korean snack food) restaurant on the 1st floor of 90 Samhaksa-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul, near Seokchon Gobun Station. It's not just an udon place — they also serve rice bowls, pork cutlet, and a variety of dishes that go well with drinks.

The seating is spacious and the atmosphere is comfortable. So many people were coming in!

It seemed like a great place for a simple meal, but also fine for udon and drinks with some side dishes in the evening haha

Since it's open 24 hours, you can really come by anytime for udon with a shot of soju haha. Pretty good substitute for Kkang Udon, right?

Haengbokhan Udon Gage menu and prices

The menu at Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch starts at ₩8,000 for gakgi udon. Even ordering two bowls of udon plus pork cutlet, the total didn't go over ₩30,000.

Considering today's prices, being able to eat three main dishes for around ₩20,000-something is honestly impressive. Really great value.

The self-service corner even had kimchi, pickled radish, and broth!♥️

We ordered spicy udon (₩8,500), fish cake udon (₩9,000), and old-style pork cutlet (₩10,900). Even with two bowls of udon and a full pork cutlet, the total came to just ₩28,400!

1. Spicy udon, 8,500 won

The broth was punchy and refreshing — one sip in and I knew I'd found the right place. It wasn't just spicy for the sake of it; there was a deep savory flavor typical of good udon broth layered underneath, and I kept scooping up spoonfuls!!!

The noodles were nice and chewy without being too thick, which suited my taste perfectly. It's the kind of dish that warms you up from the inside, so I'd recommend it both on a cold day and as a hangover cure the morning after drinking!

2. Fish cake udon, 9,000 won

The fish cake udon came with a variety of fish cakes, all different in shape and texture. It wasn't just one type — there was a fun element of picking and choosing, and the portion of fish cakes was generous enough that this bowl alone was filling haha

If spicy udon has that punchy, refreshing charm, fish cake udon is the more comforting, warm option.

3. Old-style pork cutlet, 10,500 won

The old-style pork cutlet is fried wide and crispy, in that nostalgic old-school Western-style restaurant fashion>< The coating was crispy and the meat was tender, and the sweet pork cutlet sauce drizzled on top was seriously delicious.

It would've been a shame to only order udon — this was that satisfying — and alternating it with the punchy spicy udon made for a great sweet-and-spicy combo.

Ahh...ㅠㅠ It really was a satisfying meal!!

Is Haengbokhan Udon Gage worth it instead of Kkang Udon?

If you usually love Kkang Udon, Haengbokhan Udon Gage is more than satisfying too. Kkang Udon is delicious, but this place holds its own with a punchy broth and chewy noodles, plus the advantage of having more options like pork cutlet, rice bowls, and drinking snacks.

If you're looking for a place for a meal, a hangover cure, or a casual drink, why not try Haengbokhan Udon Gage instead of Kkang Udon? Great value too — I'd recommend it as a Seokchon Gobun Station restaurant I'd happily revisit!
