Dongtan BBQ restaurant with 3-hour free parking: Grill the Terrace
In short
Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant on the first floor of the Megabox building at Dongtan's North Plaza in Hwaseong, with an open-air, beer-garden feel indoors. The writer ordered the Uiseong garlic combo set, 600g of beef short ribs and pork belly, then added marinated pork ribs as a separate order, all grilled on a wire grate over fire. The marinated pork ribs, sweet at first with a salty meaty finish, were the best dish of the day, and the building's underground lot is free for 3 hours, so parking around North Plaza in the evening is no worry.

This is Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch, a Korean BBQ spot with an open-air vibe in Dongtan. Open Mon–Fri 16:00–23:00, Sat 11:30–23:00, closed Sundays. The building's underground parking is free for 3 hours, and group reservations are possible too.

This time I want to introduce a great-atmosphere BBQ place in Dongtan! It's called "Grill the Terrace," a well-known spot near Dongtan's North Plaza. 🤗

Inside Grill the Terrace: open-air beer-garden mood indoors
Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch has its doors wide open, so even eating indoors feels like sitting at an outdoor grill spot. The atmosphere was the first thing that caught my eye when I walked in — probably because all the outside air was flowing right in! 🏕️🥩

Besides the outdoor-facing seats, there are plenty of seats further inside too. On one side there are those round tables you always picture at a bar-style BBQ place — they're all connected, so it'd be great for a group to sit there and eat together.

There were a lot of families with kids too, and there are toys so the children don't get bored 👍🏻 Overall the place felt really clean.

Parking at Dongtan North Plaza: free for 3 hours
Grill the Terrace covers the Megabox building's parking for a full 3 hours!!! In the evening, finding parking around North Plaza is tough, so this was such a relief.

Menu lineup, side dishes and sauces at Grill the Terrace
The meat comes as set menus — beef short ribs, pork belly, pork ribs, Korean beef sirloin — or you can order single portions of 100g.

The side dishes were exactly what you'd want with BBQ. I especially liked the pickled radish and corn salad for refreshing my palate between bites haha. Everything's at the self-serve bar so you can refill freely.

For sauces, besides ssamjang (soybean paste) and pickled onions, there's also wasabi + salt and whole grain mustard, so you can mix it up.
Ordering the Uiseong garlic combo set 600g plus pork ribs
Uiseong garlic mixed set 600g + pork ribs (beef short ribs + pork belly)

Since I wanted to try a bit of everything, I ordered the set with beef short ribs and pork belly, plus pork ribs as a single side order. The color alone looked delicious.

Grilling meat with the door wide open on a nice-weather day like this was total healing 🫶🏻 It kind of felt like grilling meat while camping haha.

This is the beef short rib and pork belly set — you can choose between garlic-marinated or plain, and since I already had the seasoned pork ribs, I went with the plain option.

I figured the set alone wouldn't be enough so I ordered the pork ribs too, and man, if I hadn't ordered it I would have SERIOUSLY regretted it. Spoiler: the pork ribs were the best dish of the day for me 🥰

How the beef short ribs taste grilled on the wire grate
The moment the meat hit the grill, the smell was already really good. Grilling on the charcoal-style grate seems to give it that faint smoky aroma... 🖤

The beef short ribs had a clean, savory meat flavor right from the first bite — not tough at all, tender and delicious. Full of juice!!

I dipped it in my favorite wasabi + salt combo too (this is honestly the best combo haha).

You can eat it many ways with pickled onions, pickled radish, and lettuce, whatever you like. The beef short ribs surprisingly went well with the whole grain mustard!! I wanted to try the garlic-marinated version next time.
Pork belly: crisp outside, juicy inside, with smoky char
But honestly the pork belly was even more, more, more delicious. You can see how nicely golden-brown it's grilled 🤤 It's crispy on the outside while still keeping a little fat inside.

The smoky flavor lingers subtly, the fat is savory, and the inside stays tender — this is truly a great pork belly spot. If I hadn't been full already, I would have ordered another round of pork belly after the pork ribs 😚
Best dish of the day: the marinated pork ribs
And I have to recommend the pork ribs, no question!!!!! The seasoned ribs hit you first with sweetness, then a hint of savory saltiness comes through afterward. So it's not the kind of pork ribs that's just sweet and gets tiring fast — it was full of real meat flavor 🍖

Even the slightly charred bits stuck to the grill were delicious, layered with that smoky aroma — total rice thief. Another great thing was that they swapped out the grill often, so nothing got too burnt while we ate.

As we ate, the sun went down and cool air started drifting in, and the atmosphere was just so nice. If you're looking for a great-atmosphere BBQ restaurant near Dongtan's North Plaza with that open-air feel, consider giving Grill the Terrace a try :)
