Allegro is super close to Songpanaru Station! The building itself even won a Songpa-gu architecture award, so it's a pretty new space.

I heard the parking lot is only usable during the day. At night you'll need to use a separate private paid lot!

Inside Allegro: window seats with a Lotte Tower view

Here's a look inside Allegro. The seating is set up so you can make eye contact with the musicians while you eat. The modern black-and-white interior really added to the jazz-bar atmosphere.

The window seats have pretty windows too, which made the mood even better! You can see a Lotte Tower view through the glass — I bet it's great for fireworks in the distance too! There's terrace seating as well, so on the terrace you can enjoy the view of Lotte Tower directly.

All the lighting is soft too, so it's a great mood for a pleasant little buzz.

The various items displayed on the shelves gave the space a touch of class.

Since this restaurant is built around live jazz, I think the biggest advantage is getting to enjoy both the taste and the show 😁

The restroom at Allegro

The restroom is inside too. Being in an award-winning building, it was very clean as expected.

Allegro's menu and signature dishes

Sous-vide pork shoulder steak, potato gnocchi, and white wine steamed clams are the signature menu items. Vitello tonnato, made with Korean beef eye of round and tuna sauce, is also a signature dish!

Drinks come in two options, cola and juice, both ₩5,000, and there are way too many alcohol options to list, so I filmed a video — check that out for reference!

What comes with the table setting

Here's the basic table setting. It comes with soft individual lighting, a glass of water, and cutlery.

Bread before the meal was included too! It settled my stomach nicely.

Live show: fusion jazz band Biondi's two sets

This was a day when the fusion jazz band Bee-ondi (비온디) was performing. Keyboard, trumpet, bass, guitar, drums — watching several instruments blend into one sound was truly an art form.

I liked that you can watch the show up close no matter where you're seated. Later on, the trumpet player even came right up to the front of the tables while playing 😁 They performed with so much passion that it was a pure joy to watch.

What we ordered: feta salad, amatriciana and sous-vide pork steak

Orange juice (₩5,000). The juice came out in a glass the same size as a water cup, with a straw included.

First up, the citrus feta cheese salad (₩18,000). The plating had such pretty colors that I had to take a photo the second it landed on the table.

A refreshing citrus aroma hits you first, so it was perfect to eat before the main course. Even with cheese in it, it wasn't heavy or greasy — if anything it cleaned up the palate, so it paired well alongside the main dishes!

Second dish, the amatriciana (₩19,000). The sauce was rich, but the tomato's tartness still came through, so it ended up being cleaner-tasting than I expected!

It wasn't just spicy for the sake of being spicy, so you could really taste the depth of the tomato sauce. If you like pasta, I think you'd enjoy this one!

Last of the mains, the sous-vide pork shoulder steak (₩33,000). Personally, this was one of the dishes I was most looking forward to!

I figured pork shoulder might be a bit tough, but maybe because it was sous-vide, the meat was really soft and moist... The potatoes and sauce that came with it were also excellent.

Verdict: is Allegro worth a jazz dinner in Songpa?

Allegro was a special place because you get to enjoy delicious food alongside a live jazz performance. From the citrus feta cheese salad to the amatriciana and the sous-vide pork shoulder steak, the dishes all worked well together, so it was easy to enjoy a variety without feeling overwhelmed, and everything was clean-tasting overall, which was satisfying 😊

The salad especially woke up the appetite with its freshness, then the tomato sauce pasta brought richness, and it all led into the tender pork shoulder steak — the menu flow was really well put together.

But more than anything, being able to enjoy a live jazz performance right in front of me while eating delicious food was what stuck with me the most. The closing performance of "A Wound Deeper Than Love" in particular left a deep impression — I still think about it... 😭 The mood and the music matched so well, and they even gave us an encore, so I got to enjoy it happily right to the end.

This isn't a place you just eat and leave — you get to enjoy the music and atmosphere along with the food, which made it an even more special meal. If you want a meal where you can really soak in the atmosphere, I strongly recommend Allegro, a Songpa restaurant well worth seeking out 👍
