I visited Grill the Terrace, a well-known spot near Dongtan North Plaza. The menu had so many dishes loaded with Uiseong six-clove garlic sauce that I went in with high expectations.

Where is Grill the Terrace Dongtan Main Branch, and where do you park?

The exterior sign was neat and tidy, so even as a first-time visitor I found the place without any trouble.

Open-air seats with the doors pushed open: the room at Grill the Terrace

Stepping inside, everything was well kept and clean overall. Tables were spaced generously so it was easy to move around, and the grills and ventilation were tidy too. They left the doors open outside, so we sat outside and ate in the breeze. If you want to enjoy open-air BBQ in Dongtan, I'd recommend this place!

Uiseong garlic mixed platter, 600g for 47,000 won, shared by two

We were starving, so we ordered right away. Since there were two of us, we went with the Uiseong garlic mixed platter 600g. It comes with both beef short ribs and pork belly. The price was 47,000 won. For sides, we ordered kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice on a hot stone and steamed egg.

Bringing your own wine: 10,000 won corkage at Grill the Terrace

Browsing the menu, I noticed they also sell wine, and the prices weren't bad. Pork belly actually pairs surprisingly well with wine. Just so you know, corkage at Grill the Terrace is 10,000 won!

Once we sat down and finished ordering, they set up the basic side dishes. Green onion salad, wrap vegetables, pickled sides, plus salt, wasabi, and mustard seed sauce that bring out the flavor of the meat all came out neatly.

The interior looks clean and nice, right? Naver reservations are available too, so it would be great for group meals as well.

How the beef short ribs and pork belly grill and taste

The meat we ordered arrived. The ratio of lean meat to fat was well balanced and the bright red color was vivid. True to its reputation as a Dansong-dong pork belly spot, the raw meat was thick-cut and the texture was firm.

We put beef and pork on the grill half and half. The heat was strong enough that the outside cooked quickly while staying juicy inside without losing moisture.

The heat was just right, and my friend grilled it well so nothing burned — it turned out really delicious.

Sides to add: steamed egg and kkakdugi fried rice on a hot stone plate

While we were grilling, the steamed egg arrived. It was completely soft and there was a generous amount, which was very satisfying.

The kkakdugi fried rice was tasty too. Since you eat it alongside charcoal-grilled ribs, it could easily be too salty if overly seasoned, but this was just slightly mild, which made it great to eat with the meat. It's a bit bland on its own, but chewed together with the kkakdugi it hits the perfect seasoning.

The pork belly was so tender it had a texture almost like chicken. The beef was a good thickness, so you could really taste the juiciness — it was delicious.

I appreciated that the staff came by often and thoughtfully swapped out the grill plate.

You have to order the Uiseong six-clove garlic beef short ribs!! Absolutely delicious.

The meat, the sauce, and even the sides were all delicious, making this a real find near Dongtan North Plaza.

Finishing with yeolmu bibim naengmyeon, the dessert cold noodles

After enjoying the meat and side dishes, we finished with a palate-cleansing dessert yeolmu bibim naengmyeon (cold noodles with young radish kimchi). Even as a dessert noodle dish, it came with proper yeolmu kimchi and radish.

For the very last bite, I topped the naengmyeon with a piece of meat to finish it off. There were even toothpicks, a deodorizer, and candy at the register — a nice thoughtful touch.

Parking tips for Dongtan North Plaza

There was plenty of parking space, but the ramps going up and down are a bit narrow, so if you're a completely new driver, I'd recommend parking in a nearby public lot instead.
