Gwanghwamun café bakery bread with kabocha cream cheese: Lemangdoré
In short
Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a white-toned bakery café in Mugyo-dong, Seoul, right beside Cheonggyecheon stream. After kaisendon with a friend, the writer stopped in for kabocha (sweet pumpkin) cream cheese country bread paired with a noir iced Americano and a decaf Guatemala, finding the bread crisp outside, chewy and moist inside, packed with pumpkin filling and cream cheese without ever feeling too sweet. For anyone near Gwanghwamun, City Hall Station or Jonggak looking for a café that does both bread and coffee properly, Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a safe bet.

A chat spot that continued after kaisendon
A Gwanghwamun café with decaf coffee options — this bread-loving blogger fell hard for this bakery café.
After enjoying kaisendon (sashimi rice bowl) with a friend as our own little day off, we headed to Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun to keep chatting over coffee and bread. Such a proper mood boost after a while, haha.

Walking by, the clean white-toned exterior really caught my eye.

The second I opened the door, that nutty, sweet bread smell hit me straight in the nose ♡ As a total bread lover, my happiness meter just exploded haha.

What's the vibe and seating like?
The interior isn't over the top — modern but really warm, which I loved :) The chairs and table layout felt cozy, perfect for a good chat with a friend, and the window seats had gorgeous sunlight streaming in, great for photos too!!

Those merch items were cute too, I kind of wanted one haha.

Bakery case lineup and what we ordered
Looking into the showcase, I nearly lost it as a bread lover. A pistachio croissant with next-level looks, a chausson aux pommes (apple turnover) looking golden and crisp, even a unique cardamom bun — so many delicious-looking options I had a hard time deciding :)

After much deliberation, I ordered one bread and two iced coffees.

The taste of the kabocha cream cheese country bread
The bread came sliced neatly on a plate — and wow, this kabocha cream cheese country bread is seriously something! It has that signature country bread texture, crisp outside and chewy, moist inside, and it's packed generously with soft sweet kabocha (pumpkin) filling and nutty cream cheese. You have to try it. Genuinely delicious ♡

It's not aggressively sweet, so it never got old — I kept going back for more. My friend said the bread was delicious too.

Noir and decaf Guatemala Americanos
Take a sip of the Americano after that and it's pure clean refreshment!! Game over basically, haha. The noir beans are heavy and nutty, cutting right through the bread's sweetness, while the decaf Guatemala let me enjoy a fragrant flavor without any caffeine worries — happy nose, happy mouth, happy me :) The bread's great here, and so is the coffee.

A route that flows into a Cheonggyecheon stroll
If you're near Gwanghwamun, City Hall Station or Jonggak and looking for a Gwanghwamun café dessert spot with great bread, give Lemangdoré a try. The vibe is good and the bread quality is great, so I'm planning to go back soon to try something else! Especially curious about that pistachio croissant :)
Cheonggyecheon is right next to the store too, so the route works great for grabbing a delicious dessert and coffee and then taking a quiet stroll. If you're looking for a date course or a spot to meet friends around Gwanghwamun, bookmark this as a bakery café that won't disappoint!!!
These days it's surprisingly hard to find a bakery that does both coffee and dessert properly, but this place was a total success. Next time I'll definitely try the signature pistachio croissant too!!
