I went and had seafood kalguksu today~ It's Jedam Kalguksu, located in Hyangnam!!
Where is Jedam Kalguksu Hyangnam Branch, and what are the hours?
Jedam Kalguksu Hyangnam Branch is located in an alley on the way to Barran Market near Hyangnam 1-district. Hours are 📍daily 10:30–21:00.
Parking at Jedam Kalguksu: spaces right in front
You can park right in front of the restaurant and there are plenty of spots~!! Just come, park in front, and head up to the second floor haha.

Inside the second floor: floor-seating tables
First off, the interior is clean, and there are seated floor tables, so if you'd like to sit comfortably that way you can. There were also plenty of seats, which was great haha.

The menu: seafood kalguksu for two, 30,000 won
This is Jedam Kalguksu's menu — kalguksu (noodle soup) and sujebi (hand-torn dough soup) were the main dishes. We ordered the seafood kalguksu for two!!

[Seafood kalguksu for two - ₩30,000] The side dishes served with the kalguksu were nice and clean too. When you eat kalguksu, you don't just keep eating the broth or noodles nonstop — you mix in side dishes here and there, and they paired well with the food so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy.

How does the seafood kalguksu taste? Clean broth, generous portion
The seafood kalguksu we ordered looked hearty with all the seafood in it. The broth in particular was refreshing, and you could really taste the flavor drawn out from the seafood, so I kept going back for more. The noodles paired well with the broth too, and slurping them up in the warm broth left me feeling full and satisfied down to my core.
The portion was good for two people, and we were happily eating the broth too, so before we knew it we'd nearly finished it all haha. Personally, the broth flavor matters a lot to me with kalguksu, and true to its name, Jedam Kalguksu's seafood kalguksu had a clean yet refreshing broth flavor. If you prefer the refreshing taste of seafood over something aggressively spicy, I think you'll be able to enjoy this without any burden.
It was a good spot to visit in Hyangnam whenever warm noodle soup or kalguksu comes to mind. If you want a hearty meal for two like we did, I'd recommend trying the seafood kalguksu.
Finishing the meal with the kalguksu noodles

The most impressive thing about the seafood kalguksu was the clean yet refreshing broth. Because it had seafood in it, you could taste a subtle seafood flavor throughout, and it wasn't too aggressive or salty, so I kept scooping up more.
The noodles had a chewy yet soft texture that paired well with the broth, and the broth soaked into the noodles nicely, so with every bite you could taste that refreshing seafood flavor along with it. What I especially liked was that it tasted plain at first, but the deeper flavor of the broth came alive the more you ate. The combination of the refreshing, clean broth unique to seafood kalguksu with the chewy noodles worked really well, and the portion was just right for two people to have a filling meal.
Personally, I think this flavor would suit people who prefer a clean, refreshing broth over an aggressively seasoned kalguksu. The two of us finished that huge portion completely ^_^ If you're looking for a simple yet filling meal in the Hyangnam area, I'd recommend the seafood kalguksu. Next time I'm craving kalguksu, I'd like to come back and try the other menu items too.
The self-serve bar: side dishes, chojang and wasabi

And for kimchi or other side dishes, just help yourself at the self-serve bar, and there are other sauces available there too, so use them whenever you need haha. That's it — a 5-star recommendation from me 👍🏻👍🏻
