Ansan butcher dinner haul: gochujang pork with zucchini, tteokgalbi

Today I stopped by Morakmorak Home & Cook, a real go-to spot in Seongpo-dong, Ansan, whenever I can't figure out what to make for dinner!
This place sells everything from raw cuts to a huge range of already-marinated meats, so it's absolutely the best when you're stuck for home-cooked meal ideas. My husband and I picked up wangpo galbi (large marinated short ribs), gochujang pork, and tteokgalbi (grilled meat patties), and wow, did we eat well?! My husband kept eyeing the fridge and wanting to grab more haha.

Where is Morakmorak Home & Cook in Seongpo-dong, Ansan?
Morakmorak Home & Cook is located in the basement of Star Plaza, right in front of the Seongpo-dong artist apartments! You walk into the building, head down to the basement, and it's right there — easy to find.
Driving there is really convenient too, especially handy when you're buying several types of meat haha. No worries about dinner...! And there's a mart right next door, which is great too!
Inside the shop: hanwoo beef, Korean pork and ready-made galbitang
Walk inside and the fridges are packed with a huge variety of meat. Hanwoo (Korean beef), handon (Korean pork), marinated cuts, galbitang, seolleongtang, gomtang — genuinely so much variety. Even the soup meats are laid out where you can see everything at once, so it was easy to pick what I needed.
Everything's vacuum-packed neatly, which gave me a lot of confidence hygiene-wise! The staff were also really friendly about recommending cuts or uses when I asked, which made choosing easy the whole time!

What I especially like about Morakmorak Home & Cook is the prices don't feel like a burden, so I find myself dropping by often whenever I'm stumped on side dishes!
We ended up buying wangpo galbi, gochujang pork, and tteokgalbi!

Wangpo galbi is something a friend who lives nearby has been telling me for ages is delicious and that I have to try it,,,,! So I finally picked some up on her recommendation!
Haven't tried it yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. Portioned it out and froze it at home — such a reassuring feeling haha, I'll come back with a review once we've eaten it!
Gochujang pork stir-fried with plenty of zucchini: two meals from one pack
For the pork, I sliced up some zucchini that was sitting around the house and stir-fried it all together — this combo was seriously a genius move haha! The spicy, savory marinade plus the sweet zucchini meant a whole bowl of rice disappeared in no time.
Loaded it up with zucchini, didn't even season it separately, and the seasoning was still spot on — cooking was really simple too haha.
Fried an egg, mixed it all into the rice, and the portion was generous enough that we got two meals out of it!
2,500 won tteokgalbi, done in 2 minutes 30 seconds in the microwave
The tteokgalbi was ₩2,500 each, which was really great value ˊᴗˋ. Grilled up and took a bite — chewy yet full of juicy flavor, kept reaching for more haha.
On top of that, it's made with handon and hanwoo, which made it feel even more trustworthy! Each piece comes individually vacuum-packed, and all you need is 2 minutes 30 seconds in the microwave — they even give you a separate sauce for it, so it's super simple and delicious. I think I'll definitely be buying tteokgalbi again ෆ
The variety of meats is huge and there are so many already-marinated options, so it's the perfect place to visit when you're stuck on side dishes. I keep recommending it to my neighbors too ෆ
If you're looking for a good spot in Seongpo-dong, Ansan, I'd definitely recommend stopping by the butcher shop Morakmorak Home & Cook! Next time I'm planning to pack up a few servings of galbitang, grab some dakbal (spicy chicken feet) which I really love, and definitely try the signature marinated yukhoe too haha. 100% planning to go back :)
