Suyeong café near Gwangalli Beach for crème brûlée French toast
In short
Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch is a dessert café in a side street near Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan. After a raw fish meal, the writer stopped by for crème brûlée French toast, the seasonal peach tiramisu, an orange americano and a royal vanilla bean latte. The crème brûlée French toast, golden outside and moist inside, was the standout.

I was looking for somewhere to get dessert after eating at Gwangalli and ended up at Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch because the vibe was exactly my taste. I was especially curious about the Gwangalli French toast, so I ordered it along with the seasonal peach tiramisu and everything else I wanted to try :)

The atmosphere

Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch is located at 25 Gwangnam-ro 172beon-gil, 1st floor, Suyeong-gu, Busan. It's close to Gwangalli Beach, so it's an easy stop. It also worked great as part of a Gwangalli date course — meal first, café after.

From the moment I arrived, the vibe was a bit different from your typical large café. The white exterior and the cute little entrance felt like a small European café, so I liked it before I even walked in. And the natural light was overwhelming...♥

Walking inside, the mood from the exterior carried right through! There were lots of wood-tone tables and furniture with vintage pieces scattered around, giving the whole space a warm, calm feeling. The dark wood-tone furniture by the counter especially set the tone of the space — felt like I was traveling abroad...♥
Cakes, coffee, and the menu lineup

Being a Gwangalli dessert café, there's a good variety of cakes too. The matcha cream cake caught my eye visually, so I'm planning to try that next time.

This place has an impressive lineup of flashy-looking desserts and coffee drinks! Each table has a laminated menu, so you can add a brunch item while you're drinking.
What we ordered between the two of us

Here's what we ordered that day.
- Crème brûlée French toast
- Peach tiramisu
- Orange americano
- Royal vanilla bean latte
With two of us ordering two desserts plus a drink each, the table filled up fast. Everything looked so pretty we took photos before eating a single bite.

How does the orange americano taste?
For drinks we picked the orange americano and the royal vanilla bean latte. The orange americano has coffee and orange layered on top of each other, so it looks refreshing even before you taste it. It turned out to pair better than I expected — my mouth felt so clean...♥ I'd had raw fish for the meal, and this cut right through the richness. The bitterness of the coffee plus the brightness of the orange made it great alongside sweet desserts!

Especially while eating something as sweet as the French toast, one sip cleared my palate right up! The royal vanilla bean latte went the opposite direction — soft and sweet. The nutty latte with the sweet flavor of vanilla bean made the coffee itself feel like a dessert. The two drinks were so different in style that we ordered one each and traded off sipping!!

Crème brûlée French toast
And then the one I was most looking forward to — the crème brûlée French toast! This was the dish I'd really wanted to try at Deokmi Atelier, and once it arrived it looked even more appetizing than I'd imagined. A thick slice of French toast piled high with cream, with thin cream soaking in and oozing out moist.

Cut into it and the outside is golden while the inside is moist and fluffy. The French toast itself is soft, and eating it together with the cream on top made it taste even richer and sweeter. The combination of the sweet exterior and the moist, well-cooked bread was especially good. A sip of coffee, then a bite of French toast — pure bliss... If you're looking for good French toast in Gwangalli, this one is worth trying at least once, and I'd order it again if I came back.

Seasonal peach tiramisu
And the peach tiramisu, which caught my eye visually right away. The peach is a garnish made in-house at Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch. Its soft pink peach shape made it really pretty for photos.

If the French toast is a heavy, sweet dessert, the peach tiramisu is a bit lighter and works well as a pairing. Thanks to the peach's characteristic sweetness, it went nicely with coffee too. Since it looks so pretty, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a photogenic dessert during a Gwangalli date.

A café after a Gwangalli meal?
Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch let us enjoy French toast and pretty desserts in a great atmosphere. The calm interior was nice, and each dessert looked good enough to make photography fun too. Personally, the crème brûlée French toast was the most memorable. If you're looking for a café to visit after a meal in Gwangalli, or a dessert stop for a Gwangalli date course, Deokmi Atelier Gwang-an Branch is worth a visit.
