Daeyeon-dong gukbap restaurant, lettuce-wrapped pork: Geumsu Dwaeji
In short
Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch is a nearly 24-hour dwaeji gukbap (pork and rice soup) restaurant in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, Busan, close to Kyungsung University and Pukyong National University. Arriving right at opening to skip the lunch queue, the writer ordered the suyuk baekban (boiled pork set meal) and wrapped the thick-cut pork in lettuce with ssamjang and garlic, next to a milky, deeply savory broth and a self-serve bar with unlimited noodles and rice. Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap is a filling one-stop choice when you want soup and meat in the same meal.

Today I'm introducing a restaurant near Kyungsung University~~

Where is Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap in Daeyeon-dong, and when is it open?
Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch is at 12 Suyeong-ro 346beon-gil, Nam-gu, Busan, 1st floor, and it's open daily 09:00–06:00. Last order is 05:30. It's located near Kyungsung University in Busan, so I paid a visit 🥰

This place is special even before you walk in!!
- Unlimited noodle refills
- Unlimited rice refills
- Plus a welcome makgeolli service ❗️
I'm already loving this.. ❤️

Beating the lunch queue by arriving at opening time
I heard there's a wait at lunchtime at Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch, so I did an open run 🏃♀️ The inside is spacious with lots of tables!! There's also a clean restroom inside, and aprons are neatly set up along the wall 💙

Each table has a kiosk so ordering is easy ✨️ Sauce and pepper were also neatly prepared 💯 Ah!! And the welcome makgeolli is free, so if you'd like one, just ask ❗️

Here's the menu at Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap!! We ordered the boiled pork set meal~~✌️

While we waited after ordering, they brought out the basic side dishes, neatly and tidily arranged ☺️

Unlimited noodles and rice at the self-serve bar
If you run out of side dishes, you can help yourself as much as you like at the self-serve bar up front 🤍 The self-serve bar with unlimited noodle and rice refills was well set up 👍 And there were plenty of high chairs for babies too~

How does the suyuk baekban taste? Rich broth and thick-cut pork
This is a spot I stop by every time I visit Busan, so of course I visited again this time 😊 Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch, famous near Kyungsung University!! I thought about just getting gukbap (pork soup), but I was really craving meat that day, so I ordered the boiled pork set meal ✌️ The soup caught my eye first with its milky, deeply simmered broth haha. Taking a spoonful, it was clean with no gamey smell and had a deep, savory richness spreading through it 👍💯

Isn't the boiled pork gorgeous 🤩 Sliced to just the right thickness, the texture holds up nicely when you chew ❤️ It had just the right amount of fat — light yet savory, tasting freshly boiled with absolutely no gamey smell. The portion was generous too, and with onion slices laid underneath, the sweetness cut right through any heaviness 💯

It's great with rice mixed in, or slurped up with noodles added ❗️ Especially as you can see in the photo, the generous pile of green onion on top adds a fragrant note that pairs perfectly with the broth 😍 Thanks to that, I could enjoy it refreshingly all the way through without getting heavy~~

Wrapping the pork with onion and green onion, ssamjang and garlic, in lettuce made for a real delicacy ⭐️❗️ Eating the pork soup alongside the boiled pork doubled the satisfaction ✌️✌️
Why Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap suits students and big groups
Geumsu Dwaeji Gukbap Gyeongseong-Pukyongdae Branch is near Kyungsung University and Pukyong National University, so there were a lot of student customers, and the whole place was clean and pleasant ✨️ The tables are spaced generously apart, so it seems great for group visits too~!
- Broth: clean with no gamey smell, deep rich flavor (haven't had gukbap this good in a while) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Boiled pork: thick-cut and tenderly boiled, a delicacy in wraps
- Set: generous with soup, pork, rice, noodles, and sides
If you're coming to Busan, definitely give this a try. Highly recommend it 👍👍
