Myeongdong jokbal with a retro dosirak lunchbox: Miss Jokbal

In short

Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is a 30-year-old jokbal (pork trotter) restaurant on the Myeongdong food street in Jung-gu, Seoul, a 5-7 minute walk from Exit 5 of Euljiro 1-ga Station. The order was the emperor's jokbal at 58,000 won, which came with sides including gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), japchae (glass noodles) and mukmuchim (seasoned acorn jelly), plus free kimchi kalguksu and an added old-school dosirak lunchbox. The jokbal at Miss Jokbal was chewy and tender with no gamey smell, and the dried radish with the house's special red sauce was the standout combination.

For reference on the menu! This Myeongdong jokbal restaurant ❤️ also has a great-value lunch special, worth checking out!!! There was a good variety — original jokbal, garlic jokbal, bossam, and more — and the side menu was diverse too, with kimchi pancake, water dropwort pancake, yukhoe (raw beef), and jaengban guksu (cold spicy noodles)!

How does the 58,000-won emperor's jokbal taste?

What I ordered was the Emperor's Jokbal, ₩58,000 Boiled fresh that day, the trotter meat was tender and soft, and it came with a genuinely generous spread of sides!

So tender and juicy — this Myeongdong jokbal restaurant ❤️ nails the combo of collagen and lean meat!!!!! Delicious eaten with kimchi, delicious wrapped in lettuce too..! And dipped in the special red sauce, it cuts right through the richness of the jokbal — such a great combo 🤤

Free kimchi kalguksu with a jokbal-only order

And here's the thing about this Myeongdong jokbal restaurant — the kimchi kalguksu (noodle soup) is free even if you only order jokbal!!!!!! It was even spicy and hearty, pairing perfectly with the jokbal, and the noodles were really chewy and delicious too!!!!!!

The old-school dosirak lunchbox you can add on

Whenever a place sells old-school dosirak (lunchbox), I have to !!!! order it, so since this Myeongdong jokbal restaurant had it, I gave it a try! Sausage, fried egg, stir-fried kimchi, anchovies, and more packed inside — there was no way this old-school dosirak wasn't going to be delicious ❤️
