Today I want to introduce a place in Jeonpo-dong that's great for filling up on good meat and enjoying a relaxed drink. Jeonpo-dong has plenty of great restaurants and stylish bars, but if you want to eat well and drink comfortably, this is my go-to dinner spot: "Dwitdon Sanghoe."

Where is Dwitdon Sanghoe, Jeonpo Branch? Parking and wait times

Jeonpo pork belly favorite Dwitdon Sanghoe, Jeonpo Branch sits right across from Busan Red Cross Hall, just 150m from Bujeon Station exit 2 — very easy to find.

If you park at a nearby lot, you get 1 hour of parking support. The two closest lots are Topophilia Central's underground lot and the Sinwoo Building lot. I'd recommend the Topophilia Central underground lot.

If there's a wait, you can sit in the waiting area outside and wait for your turn. Even the waiting chairs at Dwitdon Sanghoe, Jeonpo Branch are adorably cute.

Folding-door seats in a spacious hall — does the meat smell linger?

The Dwitdon Sanghoe dining hall is spacious and comfortable, easy for group visits. The tables are well laid out, making it a great spot for gatherings with friends or a work dinner.

One side of the restaurant is a wide folding-door setup, so there's zero feeling of being closed in — maximum openness. On nice days like these, you get an outdoor-pojangmacha vibe while eating.

The thing I worry about most at a BBQ restaurant is meat smell soaking into my clothes and hair, but thanks to good ventilation, I walked out with no smell at all and strolled comfortably through the Jeonpo-dong café street afterward.

The Dwitdon Sanghoe menu: more than 14 rare pork cuts

Dwitdon Sanghoe's signature menu includes the Dwitdon whole-set, Dwitdon value combo set, Dwitdon half-set, Dwitdon pork belly set A, Dwitdon pork belly set B, and black pork salt-grilled, among others — ordering a set instead of à la carte seems like the better deal.

True to its name, Dwitdon Sanghoe specializes in dwitgogi (rare pork cuts), which are low in fat and give a clean, non-greasy eating experience. They keep 14+ rare cuts on the menu, and for anyone unfamiliar with dwitgogi, there's also pork belly, thin-sliced pork belly, and black pork salt-grilled to choose from.

The basic side dishes alone come out generously.

Spicy-sweet kimchi and clean, mild tofu — perfect for taking the edge off hunger before the meat is done. This combo alone could easily down a bottle of soju.

Spicy-tangy bibim-myeon served as a basic side dish

At most BBQ places you'd need to order bibim-myeon (spicy mixed noodles) separately, but at Dwitdon Sanghoe it comes as a basic side dish. The tangy, spicy noodles wrapped with the meat cut through the richness perfectly — a great pairing.

For anything else, there's a self-serve bar.

Ordering the 500g Dwitdon half-set

Now let's order! You order through the tablet on the table.

Since I'd had a late lunch, I ordered the Dwitdon half-set. I'm a mushroom fanatic so I ordered mushrooms separately too. Dwitdon Sanghoe buys fresh vegetables and ingredients from Bujeon Market every morning, and only preps as much meat as needed, which seems to keep everything really fresh.

The meat I ordered arrived, so let's really get started. Out came the "Dwitdon half-set (500g)" — a chance to enjoy a variety of rare cuts all at once.

The composition was seriously solid: gwanjasal, dwittongsal, ppolsal, seolhasal, and kotdeungsal — five delicious rare cuts you don't often get to try, neatly arranged.

The grilling order the owner recommends for the 5 rare cuts

The owner kindly explained each cut along with the order to eat them in: start with the savory, tender dwittongsal to heat the pan and coat it lightly with fat, then grill the clean, chewy gwanjasal, ppolsal, seolhasal, and kotdeungsal in that order.

The mushrooms I ordered arrived too. Eating the meat together with mushrooms was even more delicious.

How the rare cuts taste, with scallion salad, bibim-myeon and gat kimchi

I like my meat grilled crispy, so I grilled it thoroughly. Now the eating show begins. The chewy, springy texture is nothing like regular pork belly or shoulder — I kept marveling at it with every bite.

I ate it plain, dipped in sauce, with scallion salad, wrapped in lettuce, and with bibim-myeon.

The bibim-myeon with meat and scallion salad was the best combo.

Gat kimchi and mushrooms grilled together on the pan

Mushroom fanatic that I am, I ordered more mushrooms. Grilling gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi) on the pan alongside the meat was incredibly good too. Let's keep going — down to the very last bite.

Finishing the meal with ramyeon

Finishing time!!!!!!!! After finishing all the meat, the meal ended, as it should, with ramyeon. The noodles were cooked to exactly the chewy texture I love, and the broth was spicy and refreshing, cutting through any lingering richness from the meat. If you come to Dwitdon Sanghoe, I highly recommend trying the finishing ramyeon.
