Gwangalli brunch café with Melbourne Dukes coffee: Famous Benny
In short
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is an Australian-style brunch café in Minnak-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan, one block in from the Gwangalli running course. Dogs are welcome inside, and the order here was Egg in Hell (shakshuka), croissant French toast and an acai bowl with an americano and a latte pulled from Dukes beans roasted in Melbourne, Australia. Famous Benny occupies a standalone building, so you can also take the window-side lounge chairs on the 2nd floor — a brunch stop worth planning after a morning walk.

One block from the Gwangalli running course, and dogs welcome inside
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch sits along the well-known running course that stretches from Gwangalli Beach toward Minnak Fish Market. If you come for a morning trip to Gwangalli and run or walk along the Gwangalli running course, just one block into the alley you'll find a spot that serves brunch this delicious...!

Turns out Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch, this Gwangalli brunch favorite, is dog-friendly. I'd call it the number one dog-friendly brunch spot in Gwangalli.

This Gwangalli brunch favorite gets great natural light. The exterior is clean and calm through and through. Since they use both the 1st and 2nd floors of a standalone building, it really stands out. It's also listed on the Blue Ribbon Survey haha.

Where does Famous Benny's coffee come from? Melbourne's Dukes beans
When I'm having brunch, I think the coffee matters just as much as the food, and this Gwangalli brunch favorite serves Australian-style brunch dishes alongside beans from Dukes, a famous Melbourne roaster - !

Let me brag a little about my cute dogs that I brought along to this dog-friendly Gwangalli brunch favorite ~~~~~ hahahaha.

Wood-toned 1st floor and window-side lounge chairs on the 2nd floor
The interior is a cozy mix of warm wood tones and calming beige through and through!!!! There's a staircase inside leading to the 2nd floor, so I went up to take a look,

Wait... what is this vibe? There are lots of round tables, and the window seats have lounge chairs with low tables, so you could chat away as comfortably as at home.
What Egg in Hell, French toast and the acai bowl tasted like
The americano and latte we ordered with the food arrived first. Maybe because the beans were good, it was exactly the kind of coffee I like — with just the right amount of acidity.

Egg in Hell (shakshuka)

This is the signature Egg in Hell (shakshuka) at this Gwangalli brunch favorite. It's piled high with tomato sauce, poached egg, sourdough, mozzarella cheese, arugula, and mixed seeds. The tangy tomato flavor mixed with the richness of the poached egg and cheese was really delicious. Dipping the sourdough in made it that much more satisfying.
French toast made with a croissant

This is the signature French toast at this Gwangalli brunch favorite. Uniquely, they make the French toast with croissant instead of regular bread. So it was even more delicious, ugh. The soft bread with buttery, eggy flavor combined with the crumble was pure art.
Acai bowl

This is the signature acai bowl at this Gwangalli brunch favorite. Ahh, isn't it so pretty. The cold, rich berry smoothie combined with banana, nutty peanut butter, and crunchy granola and coconut — how could it not taste amazing haha. I thought I'd been sold on it before I even took a bite.
Go for a morning run along the Gwangalli running course, head one block in, and enjoy a fantastic Australian-style brunch at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch. Highly recommend!!!!!!
