Gwangalli brunch café with veggie-packed salmon benny: Famous Benny
In short
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is an Australian-style brunch café in Minnak-dong, Suyeong, Busan, a short walk from Gwangalli Beach. Over brunch with her mom, the writer ordered the house salad at 12,000 won, the signature The Famous Benny salmon, an apple carrot juice, a long black and a yogurt bowl, ending up with plenty of vegetables. Famous Benny opens at 8am and uses both the first and second floors, but it has no dedicated parking, so the pair used the paid lot next door at 4,000 won per hour.

On a day spent with my mom in Gwangalli, I wanted a slightly special lunch, so we headed to Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch.
What is Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch like?

When my mom and I eat out, we usually pick Korean food, but this time we decided to try a light Australian-style brunch with fresh vegetables and coffee. Famous Benny apparently started in Changwon and is already well-known for its brunch.
The Gwangalli branch opens at 8am, so it's great for breakfast during a Busan trip or for brunch after a walk along Gwangalli. It's not just a coffee-only café — you can enjoy a variety of brunch dishes here.

It sits between Gwangalli Beach and Minnak-dong, which was part of why we chose it — perfect for a walk along the Gwangalli shore after brunch.
Where to park near Famous Benny

There's no dedicated parking lot for the café, and no parking support offered either, so if you're driving you'll need to use a nearby paid lot. I just parked at the one right next to the restaurant, which was ₩4,000 per hour.

Seating on the first and second floors
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch uses both the 1st and 2nd floors. The 1st floor has the order counter, the kitchen, and a few small tables.

Heading up to the 2nd floor...

The space is bigger than the 1st floor, with a mix of round and square tables.

The interior, done mostly in white and nude tones, felt bright and clean but still warm. It was more than comfortable enough for my mom and me to sit and chat slowly over brunch.
Famous Benny menu and prices

The menu is centered on Australian-style brunch and includes salads, toasts, soup, yogurt bowls, and coffee.

Apple carrot juice and long black
My mom ordered the apple carrot juice. The staff explained it's freshly pressed in-house. The sweetness of the apple and the mellow flavor of the carrot blended naturally, so it tasted more like the vegetables themselves than added sugar, which made it easy to drink without feeling guilty. It paired especially well with the brunch dishes — refreshing and clean.

The long black was similar to an Americano but with a slightly stronger espresso aroma and flavor. It wasn't too bitter or heavy, and the beans had a nice acidity — exactly my style.

House salad, 12,000 won
The house salad is ₩12,000. It's packed with fresh vegetables — light, but you never feel like you're missing out. The colors of the vegetables were vivid at a glance, and the leaves looked crisp and full of life. You could feel the crunch just picking them up with a fork~ Even with dressing, the vegetables didn't wilt, so it stayed fresh all the way through.

My mom said the vegetables were fresh and delicious and ended up eating more salad than usual. There was a hint of cinnamon from somewhere — the dressing or the granola, I'm not sure — but it went really well and tasted great.
Signature The Famous Benny with salmon

The Famous Benny salmon. Poached egg, avocado, and salmon sit on a croissant, generously topped with fresh vegetables — Famous Benny's signature dish.

There's a bit of fun in digging through the mound of vegetables to see what's underneath~ Once you clear the veggies away, the yolk flows out softly, adding richness to the salmon and avocado. Salty salmon, soft avocado, and crispy croissant together made for a really full texture.
At most brunch cafés the vegetables aren't usually this generous, but here they were fresh and plentiful, so it really felt like a proper brunch. Ordering the house salad alongside The Famous Benny salmon meant we ate a truly generous amount of vegetables.

Yogurt bowl for dessert
The yogurt bowl combined yogurt, granola, and sweet banana for a great texture. I'd recommend it as a light dessert after brunch.
