Yeonsan-dong kalguksu restaurant: giant pork cutlet, Sinseon Myeonga
In short
Sinseon Myeonga is a Korean restaurant in Yeonsan-dong, Yeonje, Busan serving kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), bibimbap and pork cutlet under one roof. The writer ordered anchovy kalguksu at 7,000 won and hand-torn sujebi with a bossam (boiled pork) taster, then added the 10,000 won Western-style giant pork cutlet and 5,000 won steamed dumplings, finding the broth nutty with sesame seeds and the cutlet crisp outside, juicy inside under a sweet-salty sauce. Sinseon Myeonga suits a group that cannot settle on a single noodle dish.

I was craving kalguksu so badly today that I went hunting for a good spot!!! And here it is — Sinseon Myeonga!! They serve not just kalguksu but bibimbap and pork cutlet too.
Sinseon Myeonga, a kalguksu spot in Yeonsan-dong, Busan

Sinseon Myeonga hours and parking in Yeonsan-dong
Sinseon Myeonga is open every day from 09:30 to 22:30, with a break time from 15:00 to 16:00. There's a parking lot behind the restaurant — call them and they'll raise the barrier for you.

They had quite a few tables inside — clean and spacious!

Sinseon Myeonga says they use a blended rice — using good rice like that means the rice itself must be delicious too.

Sinseon Myeonga menu and prices
The menu: anchovy kalguksu ₩7,000, kalguksu + bossam taster ₩11,900, sujebi ₩7,500, bibim kalguksu ₩8,000, cold kalguksu ₩8,000, perilla oil kalguksu ₩8,500. For rice and meat dishes: bulgogi bibimbap ₩9,500, tuna bibimbap ₩9,500, octopus bibimbap ₩10,000, Western-style pork cutlet ₩10,000, bossam for 2 ₩23,000, bossam medium (3-4 people) ₩37,000, bossam large (4-5 people) ₩47,000, steamed dumplings ₩5,000, seafood chive pancake ₩15,000.
We ordered anchovy kalguksu + bossam taster, hand-torn sujebi + bossam taster, dumplings, and a Western-style pork cutlet.

They're also running a Naver receipt review event — write a review and you get 6 steamed dumplings free. Worth trying!

Free sundae and the self-serve bar
As soon as we ordered, they brought out sundae (Korean blood sausage) and kimchi! I was confused since we didn't order sundae, but apparently it comes free with any order. The sundae was chewy yet soft and really tasty — got me excited for the main dishes!

The self-serve bar has kimchi, plus coffee you can have after your meal. Coffee lovers, grab a cup!

How do the sujebi and anchovy kalguksu taste?
The sujebi came out first, and the portion was generous. The broth had a real depth of flavor, and the toasted sesame seeds made it nutty.

The sujebi dough had just the right thickness! Chewy and delicious — a flavor anyone would like!

The kalguksu came out together with it! The broth is the same as the sujebi's — the difference is really just the noodles versus the dough pieces. The seasoning sauce comes on the side so you can add it to taste. Plain, it's clean-tasting, and with the sauce added it gets a bit spicier. I liked it better with the sauce mixed in.

The noodles had a springy, chewy texture — the best!

What comes with the bossam taster plate?
Sinseon Myeonga's boiled pork comes with tofu on the side! The meat-to-fat ratio was great.

To go with the boiled pork, you get lettuce, garlic, chili peppers, and dried radish strips!

There's some cartilage in the pork, so eat carefully! The meat had no gamey smell and was nicely chewy. The combination of the mild meat with the salty dried radish strips was great!
The soft, nutty tofu paired well too.

Giant pork cutlet and steamed dumplings at Sinseon Myeonga
Sinseon Myeonga's Western-style pork cutlet is ₩10,000, but the quality is really impressive — it looks like something from a dedicated cutlet specialty shop! Their cutlet comes out in the classic old-school Western-style presentation.

The cutlet was crisp outside and juicy inside, the meat tender and chewy with no gamey smell. Is this secretly a cutlet specialty restaurant? The sauce was sweet and salty — a flavor kids would love too!

A soup comes with the pork cutlet order! It tastes different from the kalguksu broth — more like a clear, light soup.

When you order dumplings, you get 3 kimchi dumplings and 3 meat dumplings! Perfect for sharing.

The dumpling skin was chewy and the filling juicy!! Next time I should try the bibimbap too — I noticed a lot of other tables ordering it.

If you want a variety of good food — kalguksu, pork cutlet, bibimbap and more — give Sinseon Myeonga a visit.
