What does the 50,000 won lunch at Sushi Hibi in Yeongdeungpo include?
Sushi Hibi is an omakase restaurant near Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station on Dangsan-ro 32-gil, with lunch priced at ₩50,000 and dinner at ₩100,000. It's a great spot for Yeongdeungpo office workers to visit during lunch hour.

Even as an entry-level omakase, the quality of the raw ingredients was genuinely excellent — comparable to pricier places.

A 40-50 minute lunch and 8 counter seats: can a team book the whole room?
Sushi Hibi is run by a single chef, and lunch runs about 40–50 minutes. With only 8 total seats, it seems like a nice option for a lunchtime team meal.
When I went, there were four of us, so given prep time it felt fairly quick — if all 8 seats were full, I'd expect around an hour. It was just the right pace to chat while eating.

The opening dishes: egg tofu and octopus
The meal opens with two small dishes: egg tofu (tamago dofu) to wake up the palate, and an octopus dish.
The effort put into these was rarely seen at an entry-level price point. Calling it a good deal almost feels like an understatement.

Two pieces of flounder sashimi and grilled Spanish mackerel. The sashimi quality was excellent and the mackerel was seasoned just right. Sushi follows next.
Nigiri that starts with the rice: daurade, horse mackerel, monkfish liver
Sushi Hibi's sushi started with daurade (red seabream) and horse mackerel. From the first bite, I noticed not just the good ingredients but delicious shari (sushi rice). I personally prefer rice that gently comes apart in your mouth, and this was just right.

Sweet shrimp, monkfish liver (ankimo). You receive the ankimo by hand — they pile it on generously, so eat it in one bite. I didn't order alcohol since it was lunch, but it made me want to order a bottle of sake.

Amberjack and tuna akami (lean loin). They naturally adjust the rice portion up or down for you. Mine was just right so I asked for it as is, and I added extra wasabi myself.

Mackerel and sea eel. So savory. You can really tell the raw ingredients are good.
Why Sushi Hibi is easy for solo diners
The chef seemed to adjust the mood and conversation depending on the guests. There were two solo diners, and he'd occasionally chat with them to help them feel at ease. My friend and I got a simple, friendly explanation of the dishes so we could keep chatting comfortably. It's a Yeongdeungpo sushi spot that works well for solo dining too.
Finishing with futomaki, tamagoyaki, udon and strawberry sorbet
Futomaki (thick rolled sushi) and tamagoyaki-style egg (gyoku). Now we're in the closing stretch.
Appetite varies by person, but from my experience, the portion felt right for a woman. By the end of the course I felt comfortably full — good for a lunch meal. That said, a man with a bigger appetite might find it a bit light.

Apparently, based on customer feedback, they've put real care into the udon noodles. That showed — thin but chewy, and delicious.

One of the chef's family members runs a strawberry farm, so they're able to serve high-quality strawberries for dessert. Hearing this kind of backstory was fun too. The strawberry sorbet was refreshing and a great way to finish.

Small touches at Sushi Hibi, down to a blanket at the counter
Sushi Hibi is a great recommendation for office workers wanting a quality meal during lunch hour, and for anyone wanting a clean, polished meal for a Yeongdeungpo date. I'd worn a skirt and felt a bit chilly, and they offered a blanket without me even asking — that kind of thoughtfulness stood out.

It keeps the calm atmosphere typical of omakase without feeling overly formal, so it's not too intimidating even for a first-time visitor. And as mentioned, alcohol isn't required — it's just as enjoyable with or without a drink. I'll leave the corkage info below.

The lunch lineup was so good that I'd love to come back for dinner next time, with some sake or an Ebisu draft beer.
