Juan Station Korean soup restaurant with kids’ lean meat menu: Suraok
In short
Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch is a Korean sausage soup restaurant near Juan Station in Michuhol, Incheon. I tried the regular spicy-seasoned soup with lean meat, traditional sundae, chives, and Cheongyang chili peppers, while the kids’ lean-meat soup stood out too. Verdict: a clean, filling choice for solo meals or family dining.

Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch near Exit 6
Cool mornings and evenings—perfect weather for a bowl of gukbap (rice soup). Today, I’m heading to Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch, a well-known sundae soup spot in Juan.
It is on the first floor at 46 Yeomchang-ro, Michuhol-gu, Incheon, in the building immediately to the right as you exit Exit 6 of Incheon Subway Line 2. It is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, with last orders at 21:30, and operates year-round.

Free parking near Juan Station is tough, and the parking spaces in front of the restaurant are paid, so I recommend the basement parking lot at Seongsim Korean Medicine Clinic in the building next door. You can park free for 2 hours, so don’t forget to register your vehicle before you leave.

A clean dining room and sundae soup menu
Suraok is already famous in Cheongna, so I still visit it often as a regular. Would the recently opened Juan branch be just as good? Since it is new, the whole place feels clean and pleasant, is kept very tidy, and plenty of customers were coming in at lunchtime.

The sundae soup comes in regular, spicy, and clear versions, and of course you can choose sausage only or meat only. All menu items are ₩1,000 off for takeout.

Kids’ lean-meat sundae soup, great when visiting with children
One reason I often come to Suraok with kids is its kids-only lean-meat sundae soup. They even remove the sausage casing, which can be tough for children, and it comes with gim (roasted seaweed) too—no reason not to come. Applause for such thoughtful management.

And here is a seriously great tip: leave a receipt review and you get a free alcoholic drink. Everyone, why aren’t you doing this? Definitely do it. When you come to Suraok, a little drink with the meal is a must. You can choose a soft drink or a set meal instead of alcohol, too.

Side dishes and freshly cooked rice
Here come the basic side dishes. The plating is neat, and the kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) is nicely fermented with a pleasant tang. Onions as a standard side at a sundae soup restaurant? That is an instant +1 in my book. Use the self-serve bar for more side dishes. There is garlic, too.

Right at lunchtime, there was a hot bowl of freshly cooked rice. Fluffy yet moist, it is perfect for mixing into the soup, and they fill the bowl generously.

How the regular sundae soup with seasoning tastes
The signature regular sundae soup arrives. It comes topped with dadegi, a spicy seasoning paste. It is subtly spicy, so if you do not like heat, I recommend the clear sundae soup; if you love spice, order the spicy version.

This is not the glass-noodle sausage from a snack bar—it is traditional sundae, plump and full of filling, savory and mild.

The reason Suraok Sundaeguk has so many devoted fans is that its meat has no fat. It is 100% lean meat, a setup especially popular with people who like a clean taste. If you love fatty meat, though, you may find it a little disappointing. There is no choice here—lean meat only.

There is chewy gopchang (beef intestine) in it as well, but if you love gopchang, you should go for the special gopchang sundae soup. The gopchang itself has no unpleasant smell, and it is chewy and clean-tasting.

Add plenty of chives, then take a sip of the broth. I love this hot gukbap broth for suddenly chilly weather.

It is seasoned enough that you do not really need to add anything. It is mild, clean, and free of any gamey smell.

Finely slice in some spicy Cheongyang chili peppers and it becomes spicy and refreshing—the kind of flavor that keeps you scooping up broth. You can get a broth refill if you need one.

Now for the final step: mixing in the rice. Eating it by the spoonful and mixing it all in definitely feel different. That is how I finished up, full and satisfied, with everything nice and clean.

And for dessert, yum yum, the owner even gave me a Yakult. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and friendly service were all great. The taste was also the same as the Cheongna branch, so I was satisfied.

It is good for a quick solo lunch near Juan Station, and the atmosphere is relaxed enough for a family meal or a visit with a group of friends. If you like clean-tasting sundae soup, Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch is worth a visit.
