I went looking for a place where I could browse home goods and household necessities all in one spot, and ended up at On Saenghwal. I'd only planned to pop in for a few basics, but once I stepped inside, the place was way bigger and stocked with way more variety than I expected, so I ended up wandering around for a good while.

What kind of store is On Saenghwal?
On Saenghwal isn't a place that specializes in just one or two categories — it's a home goods discount store in Seohae where you can find everything from kitchenware to household items, bathroom supplies, tools, stationery, camping gear, pet supplies, toys, and small appliances all in one place. It's spread across two floors, each with plenty to look through, and there's a real fun in coming for one specific thing and stumbling onto something you never expected to find.

Kitchenware plus restaurant-size stockpots and large trays
The first thing that caught my eye walking through the store was the kitchen and household section. There were basics like the bowls, trays, and baskets you'd use every day at home, plus all kinds of general household goods, so it seemed like a good spot for people living alone or setting up a newlywed household.
What really stood out was the range of restaurant-use household items you don't usually see at a regular mart. Big stockpots, large trays, and baskets — the kind of thing you'd use at a restaurant — were all there, so it looked useful not just for home shoppers but for anyone shopping for a business.

They said delivery service is available for heavy or bulky items, which seemed like a genuinely convenient touch.

Home repair supplies: lightbulbs and faucets in one aisle
There was also quite a lot for home maintenance. Lightbulbs and lighting-related products, various fittings, tools, and home repair supplies like faucets — all there, so it seemed like a great place to check when something suddenly breaks at home. I liked that you didn't have to go running between a hardware store and a home goods store separately; you could compare several options in one spot.

What is in the camping section at On Saenghwal?
Surprisingly, the camping gear corner turned out to be one of the more fun parts. Fire pits, burners, butane and isobutane gas canisters, charcoal, stainless steel tableware, extension reels — all sorts of things you'd need for camping or a barbecue were lined up on display.

There were also items like one-touch mosquito nets and hand carts, handy not just for camping but for outdoor activities and outings in general, so anyone prepping for a camping trip would have fun browsing through them.

Pet supplies and the toy corner
There was a separate corner for pet owners too. Basic pet supplies like food, treats, and bowls were all there, so it seemed like a good place to pick those up while doing your regular shopping.

This also seemed like a good spot to bring kids, thanks to the toy corner. There was a wide variety of toys, from board games the whole family can enjoy to things little kids would love, so if you visit with a child, it's hard to just walk past haha.

They actually run toy discount events sometimes, so it's worth a look if you're shopping for a gift too. Off to one side there was also a fish tank corner with tropical fish and aquarium supplies, which was pretty surprising.

When you think of a home goods store, you usually picture detergent, kitchenware, or bathroom items — so seeing tropical fish too made browsing the store even more fun. It'd be a nice spot to visit with kids just to look at the fish.

From bathroom items to stationery and office supplies
Beyond that, there were bathroom items, toilet seat covers, bathroom stools, basic beauty products like sunscreen and hair dye, pajamas, umbrellas, wall clocks, lightbulbs, knitting yarn, and stationery and office supplies — a truly wide range of products.

It really felt like a collection of things you'd need once in a while for everyday life at home.

What I liked best was that I came in to buy one specific thing but naturally ended up browsing everything else too.

Searching online and ordering things one by one is convenient, but being able to see the product in person and compare size or material feels like the real advantage of a physical store.

Is On Saenghwal worth a visit?
On Saenghwal carries such a wide range of items — home goods, kitchenware, bathroom supplies, tools and repair items, camping gear, pet supplies, toys, stationery, small appliances, and restaurant-use products — that it seems like a great first stop whenever you need something but aren't sure where to buy it.

Rather than visiting just to buy one thing, it's a place where there's fun in slowly wandering around and finding what you need along the way — and I, too, ended up browsing much longer than I originally planned.

If you'd like to see everything from home goods to camping gear to kids' toys in one place, it's worth a visit at least once.
