All-you-can-eat eel, beef ribs & Han River ramyeon in Yeongjong

A group dinner spot in Yeongjong Island: Jangsodam

What is Jangsodam?

Do you know Jangsodam (장소담)? It's a place where you can enjoy all-you-can-eat eel, beef and pork at a reasonable price! The flagship store is in Cheongna, and it kept showing up on my algorithm, so I'd been meaning to check it out haha. Turns out a new Jangsodam had just opened in Yeongjong Sky City, right near my boyfriend's place! Perfect timing since it's close by, so I went straight away ☺️ Let's go — my review of Jangsodam, an all-you-can-eat spot in Yeongjong 〰️

Vibe and wait times

The interior was huge and spacious! Since it's a newly opened branch, everything was kept very clean and well-managed overall, so it was a pleasant place to eat 🤍

Even though I visited during an early weekday evening, there were already quite a lot of customers! By the time I finished eating and was leaving, there was even a waitlist forming haha. Naver reservations are available, so if you're planning to visit, I recommend booking ahead ✨

All-you-can-eat set menus and prices

Ordering is simple with the table-order system at your seat—

⏰ Time limits vary by menu! Eel and beef sets get 120 minutes, pork sets get 100 minutes

Group dinner perks and drink prices

Besides the set menus, there are various à la carte and side dishes! And drinks here are ₩4,000!!! Total bang for your buck 🍻 The prices are reasonable and there's plenty of group seating, so I'd recommend it as a spot for work dinners or group gatherings! 😊

🍷If you reserve for a group of 10 or more, you get 2 bottles of bokbunja (Korean raspberry) wine on the house, plus corkage-free for up to 2 bottles! If you're planning a group visit or dinner, keep these perks in mind 🤍

What's in Set B — freshwater eel, beef short ribs, seasoned crab

Set B (freshwater eel + beef short ribs + pork + self-bar, all-you-can-eat), with soju & beer

The eel, beef short ribs, and a basic seasoned crab all came out! Pork can be brought over freely from the self-bar as much as you want, and you can also order more eel and short ribs through the kiosk 🤤

What's at the self-bar?

The self-bar has sundae (blood sausage), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), pasta, tofu kimchi, acorn jelly, and more, plus rice, rice balls, sauces, drinks, ice cream, and even Han River ramyeon! There's a separate fridge with pork and lettuce wraps for the self-bar, so you can help yourself to as much as you like 🤤 You could fill up on just this stuff, honestly haha

There were so many kinds of ramyeon too. Everything from various soup-based ramyeon to Buldak (spicy fire chicken noodles) and Jjapaguri

There was so much food my eyes nearly went crossed, but I only brought back what I could actually eat haha

Before the charcoal came out, we started with the self-bar food first 😋 Tteokbokki, sundae, tofu kimchi — so good

How was the freshwater eel?

Salty

The plump, pale figure of premium japonica freshwater eel

The heat was so good it grilled to a golden brown quickly 🔥

Let's go — mukbang time 〰️

No fishy taste at all — the eel was clean and savory! The flesh was plump, and chewier the more you chewed, so good

Wrapping it in a perilla leaf made it even better

In the middle, we cleansed our palate with the seasoned crab! Getting crab included as standard is really the best 🦀

The drinks were flowing

Beef, then pork belly + Han River ramyeon

Next up: beef 🥩

We made sesame oil dipping sauce from the self-bar and dipped it in — so good haha. Once we'd cleared the eel and beef, we were getting full. But we still had to eat pork belly ㅜㅜ

Full, but two more servings of pork belly, and add Han River ramyeon haha

Eel, then beef, then pork belly — I don't know how happy I was (honestly the value for money was ridiculous..)

Pork belly + Han River ramyeon combo is a must

I'm a fan of pork belly grilled nice and crispy 🤎 Full, but I kept eating anyway ㅜㅜ

Can't resist pork belly with soju. We cleared the pork belly too, no problem. Jangsodam was great because you could eat as much of so many different kinds of meat as you wanted

We finished off sweetly with soft-serve ice cream 🍦🤍

In summary

From eel to beef to pork, I loved being able to enjoy it all at a great price at Jangsodam! I'd recommend Jangsodam Yeongjong Direct Store as a premium all-you-can-eat buffet spot on Yeongjong Island ✨
