Yeongjong all-you-can-eat restaurant parking tips: Pyeonbaek Hoegwan

On a rainy day I went craving hot soup and all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu, so I headed to a well-known spot in Yeongjong's Haneul new town — Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Main Branch.

These days a lot of places do all-you-can-eat cypress steam on top of shabu-shabu, and Pyeonbaek Hoegwan is one of those spots that lets you enjoy cypress steam + shabu-shabu + salad bar buffet all in one, all refillable ⋆♡̩͙⋆( ᵔ ᗢ ᵔ ) Let's get into the full story of Pyeonbaek Hoegwan in Yeongjong \ \ \\٩(｡•ω•｡)و // / /

Where to park: the Jinro Mart lot across the street was easiest

Turns out Pyeonbaek Hoegwan has several branches, and Yeongjong is actually the main branch!?!? Somehow

Just knowing it's the main branch makes it feel more promising, like the quality's guaranteed haha. Anyone else feel that way?? lol

You can park at the building's basement lot or at the Jinro Mart lot. I first drove straight to the building's basement lot, but it was full and I was stuck wondering what to do — turns out the Jinro Mart building across the street also supports parking for the restaurant, so I used that lot instead. If you're not confident driving, I'd recommend heading straight for the Jinro Mart lot from the start!!

The building's basement lot is extremely congested — even on a weekday it was full, and with no-parking turning zones plus cars packed tightly along the driving lanes, it could be tough for less experienced drivers. The Jinro Mart lot, being a mart parking lot, is comparatively much wider with plenty of open spots! And it's right across the street, so it's not far at all~

Pyeonbaek Hoegwan has appeared on various TV shows, and apparently even Choi Hong-man was stunned by the all-you-can-eat spread.

Inside the restaurant and the playroom

Time to go in! Let me show you the interior first( ･ᴗ･̥̥̥ )

The place was really spacious, and true to being a spot that draws a lot of families, it seemed great for dining with young kids. They also had plenty of baby chairs on hand.

The playroom was huge, so if you're looking for a Yeongjong restaurant with a playroom, I'd totally recommend this one. There are also seats right in front of the playroom, so you can pop the kids in there and eat at a leisurely pace while keeping an eye on them. It's an all-you-can-eat place, so let the kids play and take your time enjoying the meal haha. For group gatherings, I'd recommend booking ahead through Naver Reservation!

Prices and how the broth choice works

• Kids (ages 4–7): ₩7,900
• Elementary school kids: ₩12,900
• Adult weekday lunch: ₩17,900
• Weekend/holiday dinner: ₩20,900

That price covers the all-you-can-eat, and all you need to do is pick your shabu-shabu broth on the tablet! You get the basic katsuo broth plus one more of your choosing — spicy mushroom broth, doenjang chicken broth, bone-broth mala, or bone-broth tomato broth.

Once you order, the staff bring out the cypress steam first. When it's ready they'll open the lid for you, so it's perfect timing to go hit the salad bar while you wait!

Let me introduce the salad bar area at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan~~ The rice-paper roll and shabu-shabu ingredients are all separated out so everything's easy to spot at a glance.

In the back there's tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), soup, and other salad bar items ready to go!!

From cypress steam to rice-paper rolls

By the time I brought back the rice-paper roll ingredients and salad bar items, the cypress steam was ready and the staff opened it up for me! Aah, a whole tray looking so delicious. The cypress steam is refillable too — I usually go for at least one refill, but this time I filled up too fast, so sadly I couldn't refill it haha.

Started off with rice-paper rolls ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪ and once the cypress steam tray was nearly empty, I called the staff over to ask for the shabu-shabu!

Doenjang chicken broth shabu-shabu, then knife-cut noodles and fried rice

We ordered the basic katsuo broth plus the doenjang chicken broth.

Grabbed the shabu-shabu ingredients from the salad bar too.

Round two, starting the shabu-shabu. I always go with the same split of clear broth + spicy broth half and half, but this time I tried the doenjang chicken broth. Kind of gave off a miso-soup-like feel?!

Of course, had to have the knife-cut noodles too.

And finished it all off with fried rice. By this point I was seriously stuffed lol, but it really felt like such a satisfying, well-rounded meal haha

Is it worth it for a family meal out in Yeongjong?

The staff member was a foreigner who spoke Korean incredibly well..!!! lol Sooo~~~~~~ friendly. Genuinely, genuinely kind. Explained everything carefully and thoroughly! The place is spacious and great for family dining — if you're looking for all-you-can-eat cypress steam and shabu-shabu in Jungsan-dong, I'd recommend Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Main Branch.
