Black pork is the one dish that always comes to mind on a Jeju trip. It's common on the mainland these days too, but I'd heard this place serves Nanchukmatdon, a certified native Jeju black pork — so I was curious whether it'd feel a bit more special. That curiosity brought me to Pork80 🐖 even before I stepped inside.

Where is Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch, and where do you park?

The Hyatt and Maison Glad hotels are within walking distance, and it's about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport and Iho Tewoo Beach — a convenient stop before or after a trip. It's also about 10 minutes from the bus terminal, so it works well whether you come by bus or car.

✔️ A 3-hour free parking voucher is given when you pay after your meal.

A certified Nanchukmatdon restaurant 🐷 There's a certification plaque hanging right by the entrance, so my expectations for the flavor were already up as I walked in!!
Inside Pork80: aging fridge and dining room
Pork80 has a retro-tinged interior with the lively energy typical of a grilled meat restaurant, but with its own distinct character. The tables are spaced generously apart, so it's a comfortable spot for a group meal too.

It's well known as a black pork restaurant near Jeju Airport and in Noheung-dong, and since the area draws a lot of travelers, I noticed quite a few foreign customers as we were leaving after our meal.

There's an aging cabinet on display too, which only built up my anticipation more.
Pork80 Jeju menu and prices

Alongside Pork80's signature Nanchukmatdon — native Jeju black pork — they also serve bone-in rib belly cuts called Baekdon, both raw and marinated. The drinks list was fairly extensive too; there was even a separate sake menu (didn't manage to get a photo of that one).

The basic side dish spread — pickled perilla leaves, wasabi, chili and garlic, seasoned raw crab, fresh cabbage kimchi, pickled scallions, pickled onion, radish salad, and macaroni salad.

The seasoned raw crab, a total rice thief, was Doyoung's top pick among the side dishes, and the well-seasoned fresh cabbage kimchi was the one I personally kept reaching for — it's refreshing eaten alongside the meat 👍
What we ordered: Nanchuk Matdon 600g and Pork Rice

We ordered the must-try signature dish at Pork80 — 600g of native Jeju black pork grilled over charcoal, called Nanchukmatdon — plus Pork Rice and two cans of zero-sugar cola.

Black pork grilled over binjangtan charcoal ❤️
Nanchuk Matdon plate (600g / ₩72,000)
Thick-cut slices with a nice balance of lean meat and fat, good-looking native Jeju black pork, arrived alongside scallions!! I usually love thick cuts of both sashimi and meat, so I was eyeing the hearty-looking meat happily — but Doyoung, who likes to cut meat into small pieces, looked a bit taken aback 😆 We were told you need to eat it whole, without cutting it, to get the full juiciness and chewy texture — so we did exactly as instructed ✔️
Mel braise (braised anchovies) side dish
It came out in an earthenware pot, so I assumed it was a stew, but it turned out to be mel-jorim — large anchovies braised with various seasonings. It's different from the usual salted anchovy paste, with a sweet and spicy flavor that even people who can't handle regular meoljeot could enjoy without hesitation.

Pork Rice (₩5,000)
Doyoung, who always needs carbs with his meat, ordered this. It's a vegetable bibimbap you mix with mel-jorim, and his verdict was that he had no idea mel-jorim could taste this good. Apparently Jeju locals sometimes just mix mel-jorim into plain rice — as a former Jeju resident who never knew that, it was a fresh discovery.
Staff grilling service for the first round
Except for marinated meat, the restaurant's staff grill the first round of meat themselves to get the tastiest possible first bite ❤️

Time to find out how Nanchukmatdon actually differs from regular pork~
Nanchukmatdon: carrying on the bloodline of native Jeju black pork, it has four times the intramuscular fat/marbling of regular pork and firmer fat texture. The meat structure is dense, so grilled fat has a chewy bite and standout savoriness — our nation's first patent-registered pig breed 🐷

Ta-da -!!

How to eat Pork80's black pork: matcha salt, wasabi, scallions
Since the staff grilled it for us so well, I made sure to read through the recommended way to eat it while waiting, and then followed it exactly.

1. Eat the first piece with just matcha salt to taste the meat itself. No matter what meat you're eating, the first bite has to be with salt, right?
2. Top it with pickled chili paste or fresh wasabi to bring out the savory, clean flavor unique to Jeju black pork. I always go for wasabi anyway, so I happily piled it on 😋
3. Dip the meat generously in mel-jorim along with grilled scallions, the way locals like to eat it. The combination of scallion and mel-jorim worked so well together that this became my favorite way to eat it, and from then on I mostly ate it this way.

Is Pork80 Jeju Airport Branch worth it?
We finished off every last piece happily 😋😋 The texture of pork can vary a lot depending on how it's grilled, but this was fatty, chewy, savory, and full of juice — we devoured it. Pork is a dish you can easily get anywhere, but native black pork like Nanchukmatdon has a whole different flavor from regular pork, and I really enjoyed that. Location matters a lot when traveling, and considering the route, this is a great restaurant to stop at before or after heading to Jeju Airport.
