Where is Go Ok-hui Hwamyeong Main Branch, and is there parking?

Go Ok-hui Hwamyeong Main Branch sits right in the heart of Hwamyeong-dong, making it one of the easier Hwamyeong-dong BBQ places to find. You can walk there from Hwamyeong Station. There's also free parking in the building's underground lot, so it's convenient by car too.

Go Ok-hui's menu and how to pick your platter size

Go Ok-hui's set platters are the main event. Each one comes with a balanced mix of pork skin, plain pork belly, and marinated pork belly, so there's no need to overthink your order. À la carte items are also available.

💡 Tips before you order the mid-size platter
The small platter and the mid-size platter differ by 200g for a ₩15,000 price gap, so on price alone the small one looks like the better deal. But if you want to try a variety of marinades, or there are three or more of you, the mid-size platter is easier. We were three people and ordered one mid-size platter plus two side dishes, and it left us perfectly, comfortably full.

※ The mushroom soy-sauce rice is cooked fresh to order and takes about 16 minutes, according to the menu. If you want it, order it as soon as the meat arrives.
Galbi-marinated pork belly, honeycomb pork skin, and the free grilling service

What makes Go Ok-hui stand out among Hwamyeong-dong BBQ restaurants is the grilling service. Staff grill the meat so it keeps its juices and cut it into easy-to-eat pieces — all with no extra charge.
With the mid-size platter, you can choose your marinated pork belly from three options: galbi marinade, subul gochujang, or low-sodium pollack roe. We went with galbi marinade, and paired with the honeycomb pork tripe we also chose, it was seriously, seriously good!

The side dishes were spot-on too — so clean-tasting. The lettuce wraps were so fresh we refilled them several times.

Rich doenjang stew and the free kimchi noodles
We ordered the doenjang (soybean paste) stew separately, and the portion was generous enough for 2–3 people to share. It had plenty of tofu and a mild, well-balanced flavor that let the doenjang shine without being overpowering.
The kimchi noodles you get for writing two Naver reviews! They're perfect for when you're getting a little greasy from all the meat. The noodles are made with buckwheat rice, which makes them noticeably different from regular noodles. Personally, I loved them, and they paired really well with the meat!
Who Go Ok-hui Hwamyeong Main Branch suits best

- Family dinners ✔️ Recommended. Since staff grill the meat, it's easy to look after kids while you eat
- Work dinners & gatherings ✔️ Recommended. If there are 4+ of you, two mid-size platters or a mix of à la carte items works better
- Couples ✔️ A small platter (500g) plus one side is plenty
- With parents ✔️ Recommended. Order the doenjang stew and steamed egg together and you've got a full meal
- Solo dining ✔️ Not recommended. Since everything comes by the platter, it's a bit much for one person

Free baby meals for children under 6 make this a great answer if you've ever worried about what to feed your little one at a BBQ restaurant! That kind of thoughtful detail is what makes Go Ok-hui stand out.
