Gyodae Korean BBQ combo set for two with cold noodles: Sodangkkae
In short
Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch is a Duroc pork belly restaurant a five-minute walk from Exit 14 of Gyodae Station in Seocho, Seoul. Two friends shared the Sodangkkae combo set for two at 81,500 won with mul-naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) at 7,000 won, tasting pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl and beef tartare, and chose the seafood doenjang (soybean paste) stew that comes with the set. Staff grill everything at the table, so the conversation never stops, and the range of side dishes keeps the meal interesting to the last bite.

I had plans near Gyodae Station after a while, and my friend wanted Korean BBQ, so I went to a place known for a solid combo set.
Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch: 5 minutes from Exit 14 of Gyodae Station
Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant at 1565-6 Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Exit 14 of Gyodae Station. It's open 11:00–23:00 (weekends from 12:00), with a weekday break time of 15:00–17:00, and no closed days. Parking is available in front of and behind the building.

Turn right around the Paris Baguette building and you'll see the Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip sign.

It's on the 2nd floor, so the sign is visible from far away haha. The entrance is on the right as you face the sign, and you go up the stairs.

They call it one of the world's three great pork breeds, Duroc pork belly. I'd never had it before, but if it's one of the world's three greats, of course it has to be good 😋
Inside Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip and what's on the menu
Inside, Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch has a clean wood-tone interior with low partitions dividing the tables. You can chat easily within your own table, or mingle with the next one if you want, so it seemed like a good spot for a Gyodae Station dinner or a company get-together, whatever the occasion.

There's a combo set as well as à la carte items, so you can order however you like. And of course, when you visit a restaurant, you have to try the signature dish! Here's what I ordered.

- Sodangkkae combo set (2 people) ₩81,500
- Cold noodles (mul-naengmyeon) ₩7,000
- Zero-sugar cola ₩3,000
What you get in the Sodangkkae combo set for two (81,500 won)
The Sodangkkae combo set comes with pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, and beef tartare (yukhoe), plus a choice of soybean paste stew or kimchi stew. The kimchi stew has meat in it, while the soybean paste stew has seafood — I wanted a refreshing broth so I went with the soybean paste stew!
Before the meat arrived, a bunch of side dishes came out to go with it — green onion kimchi, water dropwort, bracken fern, bean sprouts, and more, a really varied spread that I loved.

The beef tartare portion is bigger than expected
Look at the height of that beef tartare, haha. The portion was way more generous than I expected, and I loved it 🤍

The seasoning on the tartare wasn't too strong, so the natural flavor of the beef really came through, which suited my taste. It wasn't chewy at all — soft and fresh-tasting!

Pork belly, pork neck and pork jowl grilled for you at the table
Isn't the meat's bright red color gorgeous haha. It was thick-cut, so I figured the juices would be amazing.

A staff member grilled the meat for us directly, so we didn't have to worry about tending the grill and could focus fully on catching up — such a comfortable, nice touch.

While we ate the beef tartare and soybean paste stew and chatted away, the meat, mushrooms, and vegetables were quickly cooked through!

The ratio of lean meat to fat was so good that even though the cuts were thick, none of it was dry — soft, savory, and just delicious.

Mul-naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), 7,000 won
You can't have Korean BBQ without cold noodles at the end, so we had some. The broth wasn't too sharp, so it didn't clash with the meat's flavor and paired well 😋
Is Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip worth it? Final verdict
The combo set was so well put together that we didn't need to order anything separately to enjoy a variety of cuts, and the best part was that every single cut was delicious 😁 Having the staff grill the meat for us made the meal comfortable, and the wide range of side dishes meant we never got tired of it, even by the end.
If you're looking for a Gyodae Station spot for a company dinner, or a Gyodae Korean BBQ place where they grill the meat for you, I'd recommend Sodangkkae O-gyeopjip Gyodae Main Branch!
