Yeongjong meat buffet with a kid: unlimited sirloin, Jangsodam

I visited Jangsodam Yeongjong Direct Store, a fantastic all-you-can-eat spot on Yeongjong Island that nails both taste and value. I'd always struggled to decide where to go when I wanted to eat my fill of meat or eel, but this place lets you enjoy freshwater eel, beef, pork, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), and a well-stocked self-bar all at once — I left really satisfied.

The moment I walked into Jangsodam Yeongjong Direct Store, the clean, spacious interior caught my eye. The tables were generously spaced and the seating comfortably arranged, making it feel perfectly suited for a family meal or a gathering with friends. I also really liked the tablet ordering system set up at each table — you can easily order your main dishes or side dishes right from your seat.

Jangsodam's self-bar: tteokbokki, pasta, Han River ramyeon and ice cream

The self-bar at Jangsodam Yeongjong Direct Store was another highlight. Beyond the basic side dishes, there was a neatly arranged spread of buffet-style items like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), pasta, and tofu kimchi, so it was fun to pick and choose. There was also a Han River ramyeon machine for cooking noodles on the spot, plus unlimited ice cream and rice, so we could fully enjoy the meal from start to finish.

Is the meat any good at an all-you-can-eat buffet?

I was genuinely surprised when the first plate of meat arrived. It completely broke my assumption that all-you-can-eat places serve lower-quality meat.

The beef, with its vivid red marbling, looked fresh just from the sight of it.

The moment the beef belly hit the grill, a sizzling sound rose up along with a savory aroma that hit my nose right away. As the thin slices cooked quickly, juices seeped out between them, and the golden-brown sear looked mouthwatering.

I picked up a well-grilled piece of sirloin with my chopsticks — can you see the juices glistening on the surface? With each bite, rich juices burst in your mouth as you chew. The sirloin's signature savory, clean flavor was so good that even dipping it lightly in salt was enough to make you gasp with delight.

The hanger steak, skirt steak, and chuck short rib were all delicious too! My kid especially loved them and kept asking for more the second the plate emptied, so I grilled batch after batch as fast as I could.

The seasoned crab that came as a basic side dish was also excellent — plump and full of meat.

And to finish, Han River ramyeon!! A truly perfect meal!!

Is Jangsodam worth it for a family meal in Yeongjong?

Today I enjoyed some seriously delicious beef at Jangsodam, an all-you-can-eat spot on Yeongjong Island. Given today's prices, being able to enjoy high-quality freshwater eel, a variety of beef cuts, pork, and a rich self-bar with freshly cooked dishes — all unlimited — is such incredible value. If you want a hearty, delicious meal on Yeongjong Island, or you're looking for a great-value all-you-can-eat spot to visit with family or friends, I confidently recommend Jangsodam. It's the kind of satisfying place I'd want to revisit next time I'm craving meat and eel.
