Jeju media art gallery with drink-included ticket: Nohyeong

Hi, this is Nyenye 🫧 Today I'm introducing a great indoor date spot near Jeju Airport called Nohyeong Supermarket! Here's a quick intro and my visit review.

Where is Nohyeong Supermarket, and what are its hours?

Nohyeong Supermarket is a media art exhibition space on the 1st floor of 89 Nohyeong-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju, where you can enjoy the exhibits while sipping a drink. It's open daily from 9:00 to 19:00, with last admission at 18:00.

The drink package: 3,000 won more, five drinks to choose from

I went with the package ticket (admission + 1 drink) at Nohyeong Supermarket. Adding just ₩3,000 to the base fare gets you a drink, so the package felt like better value! The drink choices for the package ticket are Americano, citrus juice, Jeju sindari, strawberry juমুlreok, and roasted barley mix — pick one of the five.

Outside the 1,200-pyeong building and the self photo studio

Here's the exterior of Nohyeong Supermarket, a media art attraction near Jeju Airport! At about 1,200 pyeong and up to 6 stories tall, the building is honestly huge.

After enjoying the exhibits at Nohyeong Supermarket, it's nice to step out and grab a photo at the self photo studio.

The ticket booth and the Nohyeong general store gift shop

Once you step inside Nohyeong Supermarket, the ticket booth comes into view. You can reserve ahead on Naver or just buy in person at the booth! Staff are on hand there too, so paying is easy.

There's also a Nohyeong General Store gift shop, and browsing it was pretty fun ~

Black-and-white café before entry: citrus juice and strawberry jumulleok

Before you enter Nohyeong Supermarket, there's a café area set up, and it's decorated entirely in black and white!

Buying the package definitely seems to get you drinks at a better price! The set of 1 drink + 1 dessert of choice for ₩7,000 also looked like a good deal.

Here's citrus juice and strawberry juমুlreok! Since I was in Jeju, I had to try the citrus juice, and I also wanted something sweet, so I picked the strawberry one 🍊🍓

Drinks can be carried inside: a 30-minute break before entering

We sat and enjoyed our drinks for a relaxed 30 minutes before heading in. My partner finished their drink within the 30 minutes and left the cup behind, while I brought mine inside with me. Drinks are allowed inside!!

While resting at the café seats, they gave us complimentary jjondeugi (a crunchy Korean snack) as a service!! I nibbled on it since I was a bit hungry before catching my flight at the airport, and it was tasty >_<

The exhibition starts at a black-and-white entrance

Once you go through the 2nd floor entrance, this is what you see going up the stairs!

The story behind Nohyeong Supermarket and the Forgotten Door

< The world of Nohyeong Supermarket > One day, an unstable space opened up and drained all the color from the supermarket, leaving everything inside looking retro and black-and-white!

In the past, there was a door connecting to a second Earth — similar yet different from our own. This door is called the 'Forgotten Door,' and it occasionally opens up an unstable space! This is what it looked like when the Forgotten Door opened inside the unstable supermarket! Let's go in together ~!!

Passing through the black-and-white space of Nohyeong Supermarket and through the door, color, lighting, and sound suddenly appeared! Once through the door, the color came back to life as light. It felt like stepping into a completely different world from the black-and-white supermarket before.

Retro props in the basement 'Gopeullak'

This is another world within Nohyeong Supermarket, and also the main hall! But before I introduce the main hall, let me show you 'Gopeullak' in the basement. *Gopeullak: hide-and-seek (Jeju dialect)

There were lots of retro props with that '80s and '90s vibe. Once you exit this space, you come back around to the main area.

It's nice to look around with the calm music playing. I sat and just let my mind wander while taking it all in.

Sitting with a drink: about one hour to see it all

In the main hall of Nohyeong Supermarket, there's a space like this where you can sit and enjoy your drink! There were quite a few people around, but the space was so large that no one was near me.

I think I stayed for about an hour. My eyes were treated well, and I had a really enjoyable time!

If you want to enjoy drinks and media art at the same time as an indoor attraction in Jeju, I recommend Nohyeong Supermarket!
