My brother said he wanted sushi the last time he was on leave, so we went to a sushi place. Seeing everything from chicken skewers to fruit laid out there, I thought — next time I should bring him to QooQoo. This time he had a short outing, so we all went to QooQoo Chuncheon Branch (쿠우쿠우 춘천점) together as a family.
Where is QooQoo Chuncheon Branch, and how does the weekday ₩2,000 discount work?

QooQoo Chuncheon Branch has kept a weekday ₩2,000 discount event running since July, so you can visit for a lower price on weekdays. Military members get a 5% discount if they bring ID or a leave certificate to confirm their status. Also worth noting — there's a discount for reservations or visits of 10 or more people!

Deciding on a family meal out is never easy since everyone wants something different, so a buffet where each person can eat what they like is sometimes the best answer. Even though we arrived right as the dinner time slot started, there were already plenty of other guests.

BBQ zone: smoked pork ribs, lamb chops and the sushi counter
We got straight into browsing the food. Starting with the BBQ zone with its smoked pork ribs, pork belly, and lamb chops, then moving through the California roll and gunkan (battleship sushi) sections, there was already an impressive amount of variety right from the start.

I hadn't been to QooQoo often in the past, so I didn't realize how much the menu had expanded. There are plenty of sushi types without raw fish too, so much so that I was almost overwhelmed about where to start. My dad doesn't like sashimi, so he basically took over that section.
My brother and I were drawn first to seafood like shrimp jang and salmon jang, and we hit the sushi hard too — shrimp sushi, fluke fin sushi, salmon sushi. Being able to try a little of dishes we don't normally order at restaurants is one of the perks of a buffet. Of course, you should only take as much as you'll actually eat!

What if someone in the family can't eat raw fish?
There's quite a variety of menu options for those who aren't into sushi or sashimi. There's gomtang (bone broth soup), pizza, pasta, and a wide range of dishes at the grill zone too, so even visiting with someone who doesn't eat much sushi worked out fine — everyone could pick what suited their taste.

Dessert corner: chocolate fountain and marble ice cream
Once our stomachs were getting full, we naturally drifted toward the dessert corner. With everything from a chocolate fountain to waffles, whipped cream, marble ice cream, fruit, and cake, it was hard to decide what to eat right up to the end.

What the family actually ate: shrimp sushi, salmon jang and en croute soup
At first we kept it simple and picked mostly fresh sushi to set the tone for our appetites. Little details like the soy-based soup and buckwheat soba that most sushi places serve were all there, making each bite something to actually savor.
Sushi rice portions are usually pretty generous, so I tend to bring extra sashimi or seafood to pair with it, but the rice-to-topping ratio here was just right. We kept coming back for salmon jang throughout the meal — and honestly, I got so distracted by the salmon jang that I regret not getting to try the seasoned crab or shrimp jang that day.

There's one dish I never skip at QooQoo — the en croute soup. My family always makes sure to get it whenever we come. Between the sushi, sashimi and seafood, the grill dishes and Korean food, the pizza and pasta, and the desserts, you can enjoy a bit of everything in one place, which makes it a great spot for a family visit.

We ate until we were full and wrapped things up with marble ice cream and a cup of coffee. My brother got to pick up a bit of everything he'd been wanting while out on leave, and I was glad I brought him along. If you're looking for a spot for a family meal or a gathering with several people, I'd recommend QooQoo Chuncheon Branch (쿠우쿠우 춘천점), which also has a playroom. It was a delicious meal ◡̈
