Seogwipo café with vanilla latte and iced cocoa: Forest Jeongbang

In short

Forest Jeongbang is a two-floor terrace café with ocean views near Jeongbang Waterfall in Seogwipo, Jeju. After lunch the writer stopped in for the signature Udo peanut latte, a vanilla latte and an iced cocoa for their child, then watched Munseom Island and the Seogwipo sea from the second-floor outdoor terrace. With its own parking lot and dogs welcome, Forest Jeongbang slots easily into a family or pet-friendly Jeju itinerary.

A new café near Jeongbang Waterfall: Forest Jeongbang

I wanted to spend some relaxed time in Seogwipo really looking at the sea, so I headed to Forest Jeongbang (포레스트 정방) near Jeongbang Waterfall.

It's not a very well-known spot yet, but after visiting in person I thought, "this place is going to get famous soon." More than anything, the sea view from the second floor was really gorgeous — that cool, refreshing ocean view you can only get in Jeju was striking.

It's close to tourist spots, so it's easy to stop by while traveling, and with dedicated parking, tourists driving rental cars can visit comfortably too. Plus, since it's dog-friendly, it's a welcome spot for people traveling around Jeju with their dogs. 🐶

Order on the first floor, sit on the second: drinks and bakery menu

Forest Jeongbang has you order on the first floor and head up to the second floor to sit. The menu had a wide range, from coffee to juice and tea, as well as cakes and bakery items. 🥐🍰

The bakery selection was more varied than I expected.

Since we'd already had a meal, we mostly ordered drinks rather than dessert. The one I was most looking forward to was Forest Jeongbang's signature Udo peanut latte.

What does the Udo peanut latte at Forest Jeongbang taste like?

With the signature Udo peanut latte, the nutty peanut aroma hit strong from the very first sip.

A cup of Udo peanut latte with a strong nutty aroma

The smooth latte combined with the nutty peanut flavor for a taste that was both nutty and sweet. The peanut aroma was more intense than I expected — if you're looking for a drink you can only find in Jeju, this one fits the bill.

You can feel like you're really in Jeju with just one cup — personally, I'd recommend this one. 🥜☕

The vanilla latte we also ordered had a nice strong aroma too. It wasn't subtle at all — the vanilla flavor came through pretty distinctly, so if you like a sweet latte, this one should satisfy.

The iced cocoa my kid drank was tasty too, apparently. When you visit a café with a child, whether there's a drink for them besides coffee quietly matters a lot — this time the kid enjoyed it, so the whole family had a satisfying drink time. 🥤😊

What you see from the second-floor outdoor terrace

Honestly, Forest Jeongbang's biggest draw was the view from the second floor, even more than the drinks.

The indoor seating is spacious and relaxed too, but if the weather's decent, I'd definitely recommend sitting on the outdoor terrace. The view from the table is genuinely refreshing. The Jeju sea spreads out in front of the terrace, with Munseom Island right in view. 🌊

Looking to the left, I was glad to spot the Kal Hotel, which I'd visited not long before. It's scenery I know pretty well already, but seeing it from the café's elevated spot gave it a whole different feel. With the sea, the island, and the Seogwipo scenery all in view at once, I ended up just staring for a while without thinking about anything.

Worth a stop for a classic Jeju ocean view?

There are so many pretty cafés in Jeju these days, but when you actually go looking for a Jeju ocean-view café where you can really see the sea properly, some fall short. In that sense, Forest Jeongbang was a great spot to look at the sea up close and relax at ease.

It's close to the tourist spot of Jeongbang Waterfall, so it's easy to add to a travel route, and the dedicated parking makes access convenient too. Being dog-friendly on top of that means plenty of travelers can visit without worry. It's still quiet for now, which I liked, but with a sea view this good, word is bound to spread and more people will start coming. If you're looking for a Seogwipo café to rest at for a while, keep Forest Jeongbang in mind.

If you want to really feel the relaxed pace of a Jeju trip while looking out at the open sea, I'd especially recommend this place. 🌊💙 For me, this visit wasn't just about drinking a cup of coffee — it was a healing moment spent resting with my family while taking in a beautiful view.

If you're looking for a Jeju ocean-view café, it might be worth visiting now, before too many people find out about it. 😊
