Jocheon, Jeju noodle restaurant with tableside kiosks: Myeonjumak

In short

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a pork noodle soup restaurant on Beonyeong-ro in Jocheon-eup, Jeju, close to Eco Land, Sangumburi and Saryeoni Forest Path, making it an easy meal stop on a family trip. On this visit the new kiosk at each table was used to order myeolgoguksu (anchovy and pork noodle soup) for 10,000 won, gogigukbap (pork soup with rice) for 10,000 won and a half portion of dombegogi (sliced boiled pork) for 18,000 won, and the thinner jungsomyeon noodles from Dongnam Guksu gave a chewier bite than the usual thick noodles. Free baby noodles for children under 36 months and a self-serve bar make Myeonjumak an easy choice with kids.

Where is Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch?

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a pork noodle soup restaurant located at 1143 Beonyeong-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si. It's close to Jeju Stone Park, Gyorae Natural Recreation Forest, Sangumburi, and Saryeoni Forest Path. Tableside kiosk ordering and when dombegogi is boiled

It had been a while since my last visit, and now there's a kiosk at every table, which makes ordering and paying much more convenient. Dombegogi is boiled and served around 9am, 12pm, and 1:30pm.

They use 100% Jeju black pork, and you can request lean meat or fattier cuts separately.

Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch offers free warm baby noodles for guests with children under 36 months. Gogiguksu (pork noodle soup) and bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) are the most popular items, and myeolgoguksu, an anchovy-broth noodle soup topped with pork, is also a favorite.

There's also an option to order without green onion, carrot, bean sprouts, or fried tofu.

The self-serve bar, anchovy broth included

The self-serve bar has warm anchovy broth, so even if you order pork noodle soup, you can still taste the anchovy broth too.

Facilities that help when you come with kids

Myeonjumak offers a range of guest amenities that make eating here easy. There's radish tea to aid digestion, hair ties and disposable aprons, and baby cutlery kept in a sterilizer for extra cleanliness. They've thoughtfully provided a microwave for warming baby food, a phone charging corner, stain remover, and even disposable mouthwash.

This is a restaurant that pays close attention to cleanliness — even the seaweed flakes, salt, and pepper bottles on the tables are individually labeled with the date they were filled. A lot of places don't bother tracking the condiments on the table, so it's reassuring to eat here.

The first thing they bring you when you arrive is radish tea — clean-tasting and nutty, and genuinely delicious.

Ordering half dombegogi, myeolgoguksu and gogigukbap

This time I ordered half a dombegogi for ₩18,000, myeolgoguksu for ₩10,000, and gogigukbap for ₩10,000. The dombegogi is made with 100% Jeju black pork, chewy yet tender.

Myeolgoguksu (₩10,000) is the dish I order most often when I visit Myeonjumak — a rich anchovy broth noodle soup topped generously with pork.

Gogigukbap (₩10,000) is loaded with meat, and it's served in a stone pot so it stays piping hot until the last spoonful. Myeonjumak uses heunggukssal (a special reddish rice), so even the rice feels special.

How long is the wait at Myeonjumak?

We arrived a little before noon and were seated right away, but the guests who came in after us had to wait. If you're coming with a larger group, I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservation first!

The gogigukbap is so loaded with meat you'd think they lose money on every bowl.

Why Myeonjumak's jungsomyeon noodles taste chewier

The myeolgoguksu comes in a generous portion even without ordering a double serving. Most Jeju pork noodle restaurants tend to use thick jungmyeon noodles, but Myeonjumak uses thinner jungsomyeon, giving a better, chewier texture. They use Dongnam Guksu, a well-known noodle brand in Jeju, and you can also buy the raw noodles to take home.

The dombegogi arrives with a little flag marking it as 100% Jeju black pork.

The meat has no off-smell, tastes nutty, and comes in a generous portion despite being black pork — great value.

Lettuce wraps are available at the self-serve bar, so you can easily add greens as you eat.

Is Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch worth a stop?

A pork noodle soup restaurant that makes eating with kids easy on a Jeju trip. Parking is convenient and it opens early in the morning — if you're looking for an Eco Land-area restaurant, try a hot bowl of pork noodle soup at Myeonjumak :)
