Noodle restaurant on a Jeju east coast drive: Myeonjumak Jeju Main
In short
Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch is a Jeju pork noodle and dombe pork (sliced boiled pork) restaurant on Beonyeong-ro in Jocheon-eup, near Eco Land. On a drive along Jeju's east coast road, the order was conch bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) at 15,000 won, a half portion of dombe pork at 18,000 won, and water dumplings at 8,000 won. The conch bibim guksu at Myeonjumak is generous even in the basic size and spicier than expected, so the seaweed flakes and dombe pork on the side balanced it perfectly.

We were driving along Jeju's east coast road when we suddenly craved noodles and pulled into Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch. When the navigation said we'd arrived, the exterior made us wonder if we had the right place — but yep, this was it, haha.

When people think of Jeju food, black pork or braised hairtail come to mind, but meat noodle soup is also one of Jeju's must-eats. This time we wanted something a bit different from the usual, so we ordered conch bibim guksu, a half portion of dombe pork, and water dumplings.

Half dombe pork for 18,000 won: portion and texture
The half portion of dombe pork at Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch costs ₩18,000, and it arrived cut into bite-sized pieces that were easy to pair with the noodles. You can't skip dombe pork in Jeju.

Moist, tender, and soft dombe pork. It wasn't fatty at all but was boiled gently, so it tasted great even just dipped lightly in ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste).

But since I love wrapping food in lettuce-style bites, I topped it with garlic and chili and wrapped it up properly.

How spicy and how big is the 15,000-won conch bibim guksu?
The conch bibim guksu we'd been looking forward to finally showed up~ I was hungry enough to consider ordering the double portion, but even the regular size turned out to be a lot!

It was packed with conch, plus bean sprouts, carrots, and cabbage all mixed in, giving it a bit of a jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodle) vibe too.

My husband mixed it up so appetizingly, haha.

The tangy, spicy sauce paired perfectly with the chewy noodles and really woke up my appetite. At first I was a little surprised by how spicy it was, but the more I ate, the more I could taste the savory depth in the sauce. If you can't handle spice well, keep that in mind.

There's a shaker of roasted seaweed flakes on the table, so I sprinkled some on to tone down the heat. The crunchy bite of the conch was the real kicker~

Pairing dombe pork with the spicy conch noodles
Whenever the noodles felt too spicy, I'd add a piece of dombe pork, and the pork's clean, mild flavor made a particularly good combo. Take a bite of bibim guksu, follow it with dombe pork, and the spiciness mellows out a bit — the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching back for more.

Water dumplings for 8,000 won as a side
The water dumplings we ordered as a side were unforgettable too. They were seriously delicious~ Light and easy to eat, they were great to nibble between bites of noodles and pork. They'd be perfect for kids too!
Myeonjumak Jeju Main Branch, a favorite near Eco Land, has such a varied menu that I thought it would be great for a group to order a bunch of dishes and share.
