Yeosu café with extra-cilantro avocado banh mi: Avocado Yeosu

In short

Avocado Yeosu is a fresh-avocado café on Tongjeyeong 4-gil, right beside Isunsin Square in Yeosu. During the Yeosu World Islands Expo, we toured Isunsin Square and the turtle ship, then stopped at Avocado Yeosu for an avocado banh mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) with plenty of extra cilantro and an avocado smoothie. The banh mi was filling even split between two people and the smoothie was creamy with bits of chewy coconut, making Avocado Yeosu an easy rest stop mid-trip.

Isunsin Square during the Yeosu World Islands Expo

I came to Yeosu on a trip and wandered around Isunsin Square. Maybe because it was during the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, the place was buzzing with people and tourists, and it really felt like a proper trip for the first time in a while ~~

Viewing the turtle ship at Isunsin Square

After looking around Isunsin Square and the turtle ship, I started getting a little hungry and wanted something cold to drink — that's when I found Avocado Yeosu!!

What does Avocado Yeosu look like inside and out?

From the outside, Avocado Yeosu makes it obvious with its name — you can tell right away it's an avocado specialty shop. There was something cute and exotic about the vibe right from the front, so I naturally walked in.

Sign noting only fresh avocado is used

They say they use only fresh avocado here, not frozen. Since I'm a fan of avocado, this detail made me happy for no particular reason.

Interior of Avocado Yeosu with a Vietnamese café vibe

Inside, it was even more charming than it looked from outside. It felt almost like being at a Vietnamese café, and there were little avocado figurines scattered around that were fun to look at.

Avocado figurines and seating in the shop

Ordering is done easily through a kiosk, and there were more seats to eat in than I expected — good for a short rest during a trip.

What we ordered

Ordered avocado banh mi and avocado smoothie

Avocado banh mi with extra cilantro: filling enough for two

First, the avocado banh mi came with a crispy toasted Vietnamese baguette stuffed generously with avocado, beef bulgogi, and vegetables like carrot. It was bigger than expected — plenty for two people. We cut it up to share, and even just this was quite filling.

You can choose whether to add cilantro, and since I love cilantro, I asked for a lot 🤤💛🤤💛 With the cilantro in, that distinct Vietnamese-food feel really came through, and it was really delicious.

Does the avocado smoothie at Avocado Yeosu taste grassy?

And the one I was most curious about — the avocado smoothie! With its pale green color, I was a bit worried it might smell grassy, but it was completely different from what I imagined once I tried it. It was super smooth and creamy, letting the nutty flavor of avocado really come through. It was less heavy or thick than I expected, and it went down so smoothly that I kept reaching for more 🍃

There was also a bit of chewy texture here and there, which I think was dried coconut. The soft smoothie paired with that slight chewiness worked surprisingly well, and it had a different charm from the usual fresh fruit juice. The avocado smoothie was more unique and delicious than expected — worth trying at least once if you like avocado.
