Where is Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger in Yeosu, and what are its hours?
Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger is a baguette burger and dessert shop at 10 Dongmun-ro, 1st floor, Yeosu, Jeonnam, right by Yi Sun-sin Square. It's open daily from 09:30 to 20:00, and parking is available at the nearby paid public parking lot.

If you're finally back in Yeosu after a while, it'd be a shame to skip Yi Sun-sin Square. While I was there looking around for something to eat nearby, I figured since I'm in Yeosu I really had to try the famous Jwasuyeong baguette burger, so I stopped right in :)

Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger isn't just known for the baguette burger — the tungkaron and Geomundo sea-wind mugwort ice cream are famous too, so it's great for a simple snack. It's a spot that shows up a lot when you search for food near Yi Sun-sin Square, so it's worth trying at least once on a Yeosu trip.
Menu and atmosphere at Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger
The menu covers baguette burgers, mugwort ice cream, and tungkaron.

There were quite a lot of tables for eating in, which was nice.

What we ordered

What does the baguette burger taste like? Mildly spicy from the chili
I started with the signature menu item, the baguette burger! Inside the baguette there's a generous amount of meat and cabbage salad — from the outside it looks like a plain baguette sandwich, but it's surprisingly stuffed and quite filling. It gave off a little bit of a Vietnamese banh mi vibe, too...?

What was unique was that there's chili inside! So each bite has a slight spicy kick, but it's not overwhelmingly hot or intense. It's just spicy enough to cut through the richness, if that makes sense. There was also a hint of something like mustard or chili sauce, so while eating it I got a little bit of a pizza vibe too haha. The portion is about half a baguette in size, so it's actually pretty filling for a light snack. Good for sharing simply during a Yeosu trip.

Geomundo sea-wind mugwort ice cream, served with a slice of baguette
Next was the Geomundo sea-wind mugwort ice cream! I wondered if a mugwort ice cream would have a strong mugwort taste, but it came through subtly while still being sweet and smooth, so it was easier to eat than I expected.

It also comes with a slice of baguette, which actually pairs really well with the ice cream. Eating the crunchy baguette together with the smooth, sweet ice cream was a nice little specialty.

The 5-flavor tungkaron set at Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger
And finally, the tungkaron (chubby macarons) I'd been curious about! True to the name, they're visibly chunkier than regular macarons, which made them look cute haha. They come in a set of 5 flavors: strawberry milk, mugwort real, mugwort latte, mugwort choco chip, and cookies and cream.

It said to keep them frozen before eating, but who has time to wait... straight into my mouth they went haha. The filling was rich and dense and the shells were chewy, so it felt heavier to eat than a regular macaron somehow. With 5 flavors, there's fun in picking one at a time, and it'd make a nice souvenir snack from a Yeosu trip too.

Is Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger worth a snack stop on a Yeosu trip?
If you're looking for dessert while in Yeosu too, stopping by Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger as a food spot near Yi Sun-sin Square seems like a solid choice. After the baguette burger, mugwort ice cream, and tungkaron, I felt like I'd properly covered my Yeosu snack quota haha. There's also a lot to see around Yi Sun-sin Square, so it was a good, simple stop in the middle of a travel route.
I get why people say you have to try Jwasuyeong Baguette Burger at least once if you come to Yeosu! If you're looking for food near Yi Sun-sin Square like I was, try the baguette burger, ice cream, and tungkaron and pick whatever suits your taste :)
