On a recent trip to Jeonju, wandering around Hanok Village, I noticed there were so many Jeonju Hanok Village food stalls and snacks. Among them, I wanted to write up my Munkkocchi visit. I'd never seen mungangjeong (octopus fritter) before — only dakgangjeong (fried chicken) — so it was fun and new. Let me go through the vibe, menu, prices and taste in detail.
Where is Munkkocchi Mungangjeong in Jeonju Hanok Village, and where do you park?
Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch is at 35 Eunhaeng-ro 1F, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, South Korea, inside the Pungnam-dong Jeonju Hanok Village. Hours are weekdays 11:30–20:30, Saturday 11:00–22:00, Sunday 11:00–21:00, with last order 30 minutes before closing. The restroom is outside the store, and both the Jeonju Love Gift Certificate and Onnuri Gift Certificate are accepted.

There was so much food along the Jeonju Hanok Village streets, but I ended up here specifically because a delicious smell pulled me in while I was walking.
There's no dedicated store parking lot. Most people probably stop by while touring the Hanok Village anyway, but I parked at Pungnam Elementary School and walked around from there. It's free and an easy walk to the village.

Homemade sikhye at Munkkocchi's outdoor tables
I decided to eat there, so I grabbed an outdoor table. I ordered the mungangjeong set, chicken skewer and sikhye, and the sikhye came out first — being homemade, it had a subtle sweetness and was really nice.

It was a scorching sunny day and pretty hot, so sipping cold sikhye under the fan really brought me back to life.

How does the katsuo spicy mungangjeong set taste?
Next came the mungangjeong set. I ordered the katsuo spicy set with cola, and they gave me the cola in a bottle.

The mungangjeong came piled high with teriyaki mayo sauce and katsuobushi (bonito flakes). I'd ordered spicy, but between the sauce and the bonito flakes I barely tasted any heat. Mungangjeong is octopus fried into a fritter — the skin fries up thin and crisp, and the octopus itself is so chewy and good it's basically the perfect beer snack. The sauce was delicious too, and the whole combination made this my top pick of the day.

Teriyaki chicken skewer: sweet and salty
Next up was the teriyaki chicken skewer. It was grilled evenly with a good smoky char, and the sweet teriyaki sauce made for a sweet-and-salty combo that was so good. It was also bigger than I expected, and made with chicken thigh, so it was extra tender.

Why Munkkocchi is worth a stop for Jeonju Hanok Village street food
If you come across Munkkocchi while exploring Jeonju Hanok Village food, I'd definitely recommend trying the mungangjeong. I wasn't in the mood for cheese that day so I skipped it, but the owner told me they only use fresh mozzarella, not frozen, so the cheese menu comes out savory and delicious. If you love cheese, it's worth trying too.
The mungangjeong was better than I expected for my first time trying it, so I think I'll order it again next time I'm in Jeonju Hanok Village.
