Rainy-day abalone shrimp fried rice at Marine City Chinese: Bueokgan

Today's a drizzly, rainy day, and I'm here to give a detailed review of a new Chinese restaurant hotspot in Marine City, Haeundae, that I visited with my husband and our adorable baby — Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch.

We were just going about our peaceful daily life when we decided to head out to Haeundae, Busan for a little outing and a meal, and I loved everything about the place — the vibe, the food, and how baby-friendly it was — so I want to introduce it in detail!

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is located at 51 Marine City 3-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan (Jung-dong, near Marine City). It's open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, with a break time from 15:30 to 17:00 and last order at 20:30. Parking is available in the building's parking lot.

Maybe because we visited on a rainy day, but the sea view outside the window felt even more atmospheric and calming.

Once you step inside, the modern, sleek black-and-red interior immediately catches your eye.

The window seats have soft, cozy sofa seating, which makes it perfect for those dining with a baby or anyone who just wants to relax while eating.

The tables are spaced generously apart, and the interior is kept very neat and tidy — instead of the heavy, red-toned feel of a typical Chinese restaurant, it felt like stepping into a sleek modern restaurant.

In particular, there's a private group room and wide table seating toward the back, which would be great for family meals, gatherings, or company dinners.

There are antique, charming little props placed around the restaurant too, which were fun to look at.

When eating out with a baby, the first thing I check is what baby amenities are available, and Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch had a lot of thoughtful touches that really understood a parent's mind.

They have baby chairs with sturdy seatbelts, so even if you're visiting with a young baby, you can seat them safely and comfortably.

They also provide hygienic disposable aprons with a cheerful phrase printed on them — something like "I'll protect my restaurant's guests!" — so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about stains.

We placed our order easily using the tablet installed at each table, and here's what we picked today!

After ordering, cold clean water arrived along with the standard side dishes — pickled radish and jjachai (pickled mustard tuber).

Abalone shrimp fried rice, 18,000 won

This dish had fluffy, well-fried rice packed with fresh seafood — really loved it.

It comes with jjajang sauce on the side, but the fried rice itself had such a clean, savory flavor that my spoon just kept going.

The egg soup that came with it was also rich and warm, and it melted away the chill of the rainy weather.

Black vinegar tenderloin tangsuyuk (small), 28,000 won

This is one of Bueokgan Chinese's signature dishes — black vinegar tenderloin sweet and sour pork.

Thick pieces of crispy fried tenderloin are topped with a tangy-sweet yet deeply flavored black vinegar sauce, and a generous pile of julienned onion on top gives it such varied texture.

There wasn't a hint of gamey meat smell, and it was crispy outside, juicy inside — both my husband and I ate it with a lot of admiration.

Eating it together with the onion cut through the richness nicely, so we never got tired of it and enjoyed it right to the end.

Free eohyang mandu from the receipt photo review event

They're currently running a Naver Place receipt photo review event, so we took part and got eohyang mandu as a free item!

Crispy fried dumplings come topped with a spicy-tangy special eohyang sauce, and the quality was so good it was hard to believe it was free — a real treat. Definitely take part in the event and grab yourself some free mandu too!!

Between the delicious food, the hearty meal, the gorgeous ocean view, and the comfortable service, this was a meal that nailed both value for money and value for the heart.
