Where is Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang in Pohang?

Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a crab and sashimi restaurant on the crab street of Pohang's Jukdo Market. It's open 09:30–22:30 with last order at 20:30, offers takeout, group seating, and reservations, and has separate men's/women's restrooms.

I was in Pohang and went looking for a well-known Pohang restaurant, and ended up at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang on the crab street of Jukdo Market! It would've been such a shame to come all the way to Pohang without eating crab haha. So I went all out on a proper seafood feast 💕

Walking along the crab street of Jukdo Market, you'll see crab restaurants lined up one after another. The fish tanks right at the entrance caught my eye immediately — fun to look at. Seeing all that seafood packed into the tanks before even stepping inside made me think, "Oh, this place must be the real deal!"

There were quite a lot of customers when we visited too. It's known as a Jukdo Market favorite, so the atmosphere was lively! Still, there were plenty of tables, so we sat comfortably.

Ordering the red crab set for two at fixed prices

We ordered the red crab set for two at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang! What I liked most was the fixed pricing ✨ Since the price is set, we could order comfortably without worrying about cost or feeling awkward about it.

After ordering, dishes started arriving one by one and the table filled up fast lol. Starting with abalone porridge, the table was already packed before the main dish even arrived! Corn cheese, soy-marinated crab, hoe-muchim (spicy mixed raw fish salad) — so many different dishes that by the time I'd tried them all, I was already starting to feel full 😂

Mulhoe, sashimi, sea squirt, sea cucumber and abalone

The mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) especially exceeded expectations! Tangy and refreshing, with generous seafood inside — it really woke up the appetite.

The sashimi was clean with no fishy taste at all, and it felt genuinely fresh. I guess when you visit a Pohang crab spot, you really have to eat seafood like this alongside it haha.

Sea squirt, sea cucumber, and abalone also came out, and each one was so fresh it felt like it had just come straight from the sea haha.

How meaty is the red crab off season?

And finally, the red crab we'd been waiting and waiting for ✨!!! Even though it wasn't peak season, I was surprised at how much meat it had inside!

The claws especially were pretty packed with meat, which made it fun to pull it all out in one piece. The meat is mild but subtly sweet, and moist enough that you keep reaching for more. Cracking the shell open and eating it in one bite — pure happiness in that moment lol T_T

Along with the crab, shrimp came out too, and we happily cracked those open together.

Don't skip the rice mixed in the crab shell

And this one, you really have to try! Crab shell rice ❤️ You mix rice right into the crab shell, and it's savory and salty in the best way. Adding a bit of red crab meat on top and eating it together was seriously incredible... I want to eat it again T_T

I thought I was already pretty full, but it wasn't over yet lol. Last came the spicy stew!

The broth was refreshing and packed with solid ingredients — a perfect way to finish the meal. Spicy but clean, so even though I was full, my spoon kept going back in… 😂

Is the red crab set for two worth it?

If you want a proper seafood spread during a trip to Pohang, Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang on Jukdo Market was really good! The fixed pricing let us order without stress, and beyond the red crab, we got sashimi, sea squirt/sea cucumber/abalone, various side dishes, crab shell rice, and spicy stew — a genuinely generous spread that left us satisfied. Most of all, the red crab meat was packed full, and we ate really well 🦀💕 If you're planning a Pohang trip, go have a hearty meal on the crab street at Jukdo Market! Next time I'm in Pohang, I think I'll be going back for crab again haha.
