Itaewon brunch café for smoked salmon eggs Benedict: Ongfleur

Where is Ongfleur? About 799m on foot from Itaewon Station

Ongfleur is a brunch café at 52 Hoenamu-ro 44-gil, 1st floor, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, about 799 meters from Exit 2 of Itaewon Station. It's open Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00–18:00, closed Mondays, takes reservations, and you can bring your pet.

A day out playing princess with my friend after a long while!! We planned to hang out in Itaewon that evening, so I was looking for somewhere to have brunch beforehand and found Ongfleur. The photos were so pretty I went, this is it!!!! and booked right away.

You do have to walk a bit from Itaewon Station since it's a little off the main street, so the vibe is nice and quiet. It's right in front of the Grand Hyatt so it's easy to find.

Ongfleur is a small brunch café tucked inside the alley, and the moment I walked in I thought, good thing I booked this place!! (let me pat myself on the back). White walls, wood furniture, rattan chairs, and the greenery through the big windows — every element I love, all thrown in at once...

There's an old piano tucked in one corner, and plants and little objects placed all around, giving it the feel of visiting a European home.

The purpose of the day was brunch, but it was also a rare day for my friend and me to dress up pretty and play princess, so a million photos had to happen lol haha. We were already busy poking around every corner before the food even arrived;

Smoked salmon eggs Benedict, 18,000 won: the yolk spills right out

What we ordered was the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and the brioche French toast.

Both are ₩18,000, so we ordered one of each and shared. First up, the smoked salmon eggs Benedict.

The plating alone was so pretty... smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, salad and fruit all came together, the whole plate packed full.

And when I cut into the egg, the yolk burst!!!!!!!!

Exactly the doneness I love ㅠㅠ egg white cooked through, yolk inside running out. Isn't this exactly why you eat eggs Benedict... the smoked salmon and egg with the sauce together were so soft and savory it disappeared in seconds. The salad on the side was nice to mix in between bites too.

Brioche French toast, 18,000 won: a sweet-and-salty loop

And then the brioche French toast. Its visual is gorgeous too. This one comes with thick French toast, grilled banana, bacon, sausage, salad, and fruit, the whole plate packed full.

The French toast itself is on the sweet, moist side, so it's good even plain, but add syrup and it's a proper sugar recharge. Eating the sweet toast, then grabbing a bite of salty bacon or sausage, then back to fruit... round and round the sweet-and-salty loop goes. With everything I love piled onto one plate, it really felt like a proper brunch outing.

We also ordered coffee (iced americano, obviously), and it leaned nutty rather than acidic, which is my style.

Eat the sweet French toast, take a sip of iced coffee, and you could start all over again!!!!!!!@!@!@!@! Yep, today I am a pig again..

Who is Ongfleur best for?

Above all, the food was delicious that day, but Ongfleur itself was so pretty it's what stuck with me.

The food plating is colorful and there are plenty of photo spots inside, so it's a great place to come enjoy a relaxed weekend lunch with a friend.

It's also good for meeting up a little early on a day you have plans in Itaewon, having brunch, then heading out to hang out. And if you're looking for a spot to date your boyfriend or play princess with your girlfriend(?), I'd recommend it. It was the absolute perfect start to our day that day!!
