My boyfriend and I wanted to go on a proper date for the first time in a while, so while looking for a good date restaurant around Gangnam Station, we visited Eulji Darak Gangnam Station (을지다락 강남역). I had known Eulji Darak for a while and remembered it as a place with a lovely atmosphere from back when it was around Dosan in Apgujeong Rodeo. It naturally came to mind when I came across it this time as a pasta spot near Gangnam Station, so I decided to visit again. I wanted pasta and somewhere with a nice atmosphere too, and it looked good for a date in every way, so I went in curious about the Gangnam branch.

Eulji Darak Gangnam Station: location and parking

Eulji Darak, a pasta restaurant near Gangnam Station, is a five-minute walk from Exit 11. It was a shame that parking is not available in the building. For paid parking nearby, there are three options: Yeoksam Culture Park No. 1 Public Parking Lot (21 Teheran-ro 7-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul), Yeoksam Culture Park No. 2 Public Parking Lot (32 Teheran-ro 7-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul), and the underground parking lot at Gangnam CGV.

An atmosphere suited to blind dates and dates

The first thing I noticed as soon as I entered was, of course, the atmosphere. Eulji Darak is clean overall but warm in feeling, and it has seats with a view through the large windows, so it did not feel cramped. The space was decorated beautifully enough for photos, and even before the food arrived, I thought we had chosen well. The table spacing and seating were comfortable for a date with my boyfriend, and while the mood was not overly formal, it was still polished—such a good fit for anyone looking for a Gangnam Station date restaurant.

There were also tables for larger groups, so it looked great not only for a date for two but also for occasions needing a bit of atmosphere, such as a blind date or a gathering to hand out wedding invitations.

Ordering spicy cream pasta and signature dishes

I first saw Eulji Darak in Dosan, but it actually started in Euljiro~ After some deliberation, we ordered the spicy cream pasta, Darak omelet rice, and katsu sando. Their different styles made them nice to share, but since I had come for pasta near Gangnam Station, I was looking forward to the spicy cream pasta most. The omelet rice was a signature dish you simply have to try at Eulji Darak, and I thought adding the katsu sando would make for a pretty filling meal too.

Eulji Darak also runs a review event, so do not miss it.

As the dishes came out one by one, the portions were more generous than I expected, and everything looked so pretty on the table—seriously appetizing.

Spicy cream pasta mixed with egg yolk

The spicy cream pasta came with plenty of noodles in cream sauce and an egg yolk in the middle. We were told to break the yolk and mix it into the noodles. I thought it might be spicier than it was, but it was not very hot; the creamy, gentle flavor came through first.

The cream sauce was smooth and nutty, with just a slight spicy note coming in afterward. The sauce was so good that I kept eating it. Once I broke the yolk in the middle and mixed it with the noodles, it was definitely even nuttier. The egg yolk made the cream sauce taste richer, and the large shrimp dotted over the pasta were so delicious.

Darak omelet rice cut open by the staff

Omelet rice is Eulji Darak’s signature dish, so I could not not order it. The omelet covered the rice so smoothly that it looked soft even before cutting. There was plenty of sauce around the plate, which looked perfect to eat with the rice.

A staff member comes over and cuts the omelet rice open for you. Is this not the ultimate heart-stealer for women?~👍👍

Omelet rice egg unfolding softly

The egg on the omelet rice was even more moist than I expected. When it was cut down the middle, the egg unfolded softly, and spooning up the fried rice with the sauce tasted familiar but delicious. I could see why people order omelet rice so often here.

Katsu sando with a thick pork cutlet

I saw that lots of people ordered the katsu sando, so we tried it too. It was so good that I was glad we had ordered it.

Katsu sando with a thick pork cutlet

You can see in the photo how soft the bread is and how thick the pork cutlet is, right? The cutlet did not feel thin and pressed flat; it had enough meat thickness to give it a satisfying bite.

Crisp katsu sando served with coleslaw

The outside was crisp and the meat inside was tender, so it went wonderfully with the bread. Eating it with the coleslaw on the side also made it feel less rich. Rather than choosing just one of the three, I recommend ordering a variety like we did—pasta, omelet rice, and katsu sando—and sharing. Each dish has a different flavor, so you get to try all sorts of things instead of eating only one food the whole time.

Italian-style food near Gangnam Station for a leisurely conversation

The food was delicious, but the atmosphere was so nice that it was great to eat slowly while talking with my boyfriend. I think it would also suit a first meeting like a blind date, or a gathering to hand out wedding invitations where conversation is important. This was my first return to Eulji Darak near Gangnam Station in a while, and I was satisfied because the atmosphere was still lovely. If you are looking for pasta near Gangnam Station and do not want to compromise on either food or atmosphere, I recommend Eulji Darak.
