Hi, this is Twol :) Lately I've been really stressed about my roots growing out and my damaged hair and uneven tone after a strong perm, so I went to designer Dohwa at TONI&GUY Daechi — ranked #1 recommended salon on the Daechi-dong mom café — for a full matte brown color and clinic treatment.
Here's my honest review of the roughly 2.5-hour coloring and clinic experience at a hair salon near Hanti Station in Daechi-dong that had great accessibility and facilities. Let's get into it!
Where is TONI&GUY Daechi, and is there parking?
TONI&GUY Daechi is on the 6th floor of a building at 9 Seolleung-ro 64-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a hair salon in Daechi-dong close to Hanti Station. Valet parking was available, so driving there was no hassle.
Valet parking made things so easy! It's near my place, but I had to go straight to work after, so I brought my car haha.
What kind of hair salon is TONI&GUY Daechi?
TONI&GUY Daechi was voted the #1 recommended salon on the Daechi-dong mom café,
and all the staff have completed TONI&GUY headquarters' academy cutting course, with regular training twice a month, so I felt like I could trust the technical side.
It's also an Ayunche and L'Oréal Premium excellent store, and they recently launched Kérastase too, so you can get the Jang Won-young clinic line at a good price.

Take the elevator up to the 6th floor at TONI&GUY Daechi~
The interior has great natural light and a soft atmosphere that catches your eye right away.
Waiting seats and service seats are clearly separated,
so it felt uncluttered and comfortable.
Best of all, the shampoo stations are premium massage shampoo stations, so during the clinic treatment it felt like getting a scalp massage too — so relaxing haha. Great facilities among the hair salons near Hanti Station in Daechi-dong!
Before: grown-out roots, gray hair and perm-damaged ends
My roots had grown out a lot and gray hairs were starting to show, so I needed a full color.
On top of that, I'd gotten a perm about a month before that turned out way too strong, so my ends were pretty damaged too.
My color had faded so the tone wasn't even, and my hair texture was just... a total mess.
Designer Dohwa listened to my concerns and carefully worked out the right color for me.
How the matte brown color and protein clinic were done
We settled on matte brown — not too warm, not too cool.
Designer Dohwa checked my hair condition and applied the color carefully, paying close attention to full gray coverage.
After applying the color, I sat for a while to let it develop,
and they even brought out snacks so I wouldn't get bored haha.
Once the development and neutralizing time was done, they moved on to the protein clinic.
The massage chairs are just so good haha.
They shampooed thoroughly first, then went straight into the clinic treatment.
The shampoo felt super refreshing too.

It's packed with protein ampoules that nourish damaged hair, and I could feel my fingers gliding through much more smoothly even while rinsing.
She carefully worked nutrients into each strand of my hair — so touching!
A steamer is used to deliver the nutrients thoroughly.
The color, neutralizing, and standard protein clinic together took about 2.5 hours total.
Designer Dohwa was so thorough with the blow-dry too!
I especially wanted a cloud-perm style blow-dry, and she styled it exactly the way I wanted — I was so touched haha.
She tidied up my damaged ends and trimmed my fringe neatly too!
Looking in the mirror, my roots and gray hair were completely covered and the color came out a subtle shade that was exactly my tone — I loved it so much haha.
After: gray coverage and hair texture results
The before-and-after difference is huge~ haha.
Unifying the uneven, patchy color into one shade made everything look so much cleaner!
Maybe because I got the clinic treatment too, but even after coloring my hair didn't feel noticeably more damaged.
Getting my totally chaotic hair sorted out put me in such a good mood.
